We had this amazing all black women yoga session at Shifta 2 years ago!!!

It was a blessing and honour to lead these beautiful souls into deep relaxation with Heran's Yoga

Shifta has been my home base restaurant for sooo many years!! We have had over 2 years of Open Mic events here‼️

They have the best Ethiopian, Carribbean and African food at Shifta, including plenty of vegan & vegetarian options! Juices & more!
My go-to restaurant for their amazing Berry Salad & super food options with Quinoa, etc...🥗🍛🍲🍝🥙☕🍵

We have had amazing parties & movie nights & reflective discussions!

Connecting the community in Lamu (Kenya) with the community in the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, West Africa & Ethiopian Highlands, based on our participants sharing their stories, while we develop our relationship, since we are in this boat together.

Enjoying educating ourselves on Swahili culture, language, music, fresh food & speciality coffee. We discuss our shared African heritage. Looking at our complex paradox and the needed climate solutions, justice, mitigation and adaptation in a Neo-colonial context. Connecting the scientists, artists, entrepreneurs and activists to come up with more innovative pathways forward.

Especially, sea-level rise immediately impacts communities on islands. The Western knowledge systems don't engage indigenous peoples and their needs. That's why we focus on training community scientists, so we can come up evidence-based adaptive management. Therefore capacity building is part of the solution in order to transform our realities.
