Last week, Elina Raask spoke at the EPP Group in the European Parliament and Responsible Business Alliance event to address the challenges and opportunities of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (EUCSDDD).

Drawing on over 20 years of supply chain due diligence experience, we shared insights on what supply chain due-diligence means in practice, how implementation guidelines can build on existing frameworks and due-diligence practices, where we see core challenges as well as the expectation that the EC will create meaningful conditions that will help create real impact on the ground.

In essence:
• Implementation guidelines should be developed as soon as possible in close collaboration with industry, taking advantage of existing best practices.
• Harmonization should be the main goal of national implementation work.
• Leveraging EUs and member states extensive third countries network and experience of industry stakeholders to enhance the stakeholder dialogue around resolving some of the root-causes of re-occurring challenges in the supply chains.

Unifying with nature 🏞️

celebrated Finnish Nature Day, which took place on August 31st. One of the main events of the day was spending a night outdoors, known as . 🌙

Our headed to Kuusamo to hike one of the most popular trails, the legendary Karhunkierros Trail (also known as The Bear's Trail or The Bear's Ring). After a successful yet exhausting hike, they spent the night near a lake, surrounded by beautiful scenery.

We are happy to see our team enjoying amazing, team-bonding time together. 🤝

What a fantastic day at the Nokia North Sydney Walk Club!

Our hit the streets of North Sydney, basking in the sunshine, proudly wearing our Nokia t-shirts, and sharing smiles all around. It was a perfect blend of exercise, fresh air, and connection with one another. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Nokia Bangalore organized a one-day workshop on July 26, 2024, specifically for technical minds from premier Indian institutes such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

The event featured keynote speeches, hands-on lab sessions, and demonstrations of 6G use cases. The participating students posed insightful and high-quality questions, which were thoroughly addressed by the presenters. This workshop marks another initiative by Nokia to strengthen its collaboration with academic institutions.

, in accordance with the agreement made with the Ethiopian government, has committed to planting 1,250 saplings as part of the Green Legacy initiative. 🌱 🌍

Green Legacy has a remarkable goal ahead – planting over 6 billion trees to support local nature and protect forests from deforestation. The plan also includes increasing afforestation in Ethiopia. 🌲 🌳

It’s official, we’re the first tech vendor to self-certify our US-manufactured fiber products for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program, ensuring they are Buy America-compliant.

This certification, required by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) allows BEAD applicants and infrastructure builders to confidently use Nokia-certified products in broadband infrastructure projects aimed at closing the digital divide.
