Dome Upcycling järjestää kangasmerkkityöpajan

Dome Upcycling järjestää kaikille avoimen ja ilmaisen kangasmerkkityöpajan ekoviikolla kauppakeskus Itiksen infoympyrällä! Kangasmerkkityöpaja järjestetään tiistaina 20.6. klo 11-13 ja 13.30-15.30.

Tule siis tekemään omanlaisesi kangasmerkki kierrätysmateriaalista. Kangasmerkkiä voi käyttää koristeena vaatteissa ja asusteissa tai hyödyntää vaatteen paikkana.

Voit saapua työpajaan milloin tahansa aukioloaikojen puitteissa. Kangasmerkin valmistus kestää noin 20-30 minuuttia. Työpajaan voi osallistua kerrallaan noin viisi henkilöä ja se sopii hyvin myös yli 10 vuotiaille lapsille.

Työpajaohjaajana toimivat La Lola Anastasia ja Kasia Jamrozik / Upstitch Studio.

Dome Upcycling organises a free drop-in upcycling workshop during Itis Shopping Centre's eco-week next to the Info-point on Tuesday 20.6.at 11-13 and 13.30-15.30.

Come and make your own textile badge from recycling material that you can use as decoration or to patch a hole in your clothes. You can join the workshop any time. It takes about 20 minutes to make a textile badge. About 5 people can participate in the workshop at a time and over 10 years old children can also participate.

Our Story

Welcome to Finland's first Upcycling Design Center!

The purpose of the Upcycling Design Center is to bring well-being to individuals by offering them fun, energizing and creative learning experiences based on design, handicraft and circular economy. The Upcycling Design Center aims to empower unemployed women, especially immigrant women, through meaningful activities and training that support their integration. The center’s activities are open to public. During opening hours visitors are welcome to visit the center in order to participate in the production or exchange ideas with the makers. The Upcycling Design Center has been developed by upcycling expert and creative entrepreneur Isabella Haas, who has over 20 years of experience in the field.

We just completed a very successful upcycling design training and experience project with a group of unemployed immigrant women and are now looking for the next success stories. We will choose 5-10 women from all applicants for the free training. The Upcycling Design Center is located in one of Helsinki’s up and coming sustainable shopping centers ITIS at Itäkeskus metro station. The women are invited to work together with others and find solutions to the huge textile waste problem our society is facing. Products that they produce from discarded material can be sold at the Upcycyling Design Center’s own store. No need to worry about the level of Finnish or English language. They will have the opportunity to practice and improve their skills during the training.
