Spring is in the air 🌞 Pipsa the office dog and behind there is our warehouse and office building.

Always think green! 🌱 That's one of our key values. We design our stands to be reusable again and again. That way we can use same materials event to event to minimize our travel and exhibition footprint.

In this picture, everything is packed from our Light+Building 2024 stand and they are now waiting for next destination.

At Light+Building 2024 we were presenting new product releases from our own brands. aLED eevatec is new innovation for high ambient temperatures. With this new technology we can reach Ta +125°C. GROWLIGHTENGINE track lights for green walls gives great solution for offices, restaurants and even home use.

Also, we were celebrating Arrant-light Oy's 40-year anniversary and our customers, suppliers and friends left us greetings and congratulations to our congratulatory boards. We will display these boards in our office in Finland.

Arrant team wants to thank everybody for visiting our stand at Light-+Building fair!

As usual, we have donated our Christmas present funds to charity. We support Save the Children during the Christmas 2023. Save the Children will help poor families in Finland by distributing food aid and giving support for hobbies and learning.

Good Tuesday and the beginning of the new week! Let us introduce to you our Office Manager Katri Mäkinen ☀

Katri has been working at her family business Arrant-Light, for almost 20 years! As an Office Manager, her work image includes many different tasks. Mainly she handles invoicing, receives and processes orders from customers, and handles them onward. At the warehouse, she handles logistics and ensures that our customers' orders stay on time. In addition to these tasks, she arranges catering for customers and employers. We often have coffee and sweets together before holidays and on Fridays. ☕️

"I have been able to travel around the world in addition to work. I have attended numerous trade fairs in the lighting industry, e.g. Frankfurt, Milan, Moscow, Hong Kong, USA. Perhaps the most memorable was the trip to Beijing, where our supplier took us to the Great Wall of China. It's an amazing structure."

If you have seen freshly planted flowers outside our office, it's Katri who has planted these 🌸 "I like flowers. There are always cut flowers in our home all year round. My favorite flower is the peony. During the summer, we live by the sea in our summer place in Rymättylä."

The sun is shining and summer is finally here in Turku! Hope you had a great week, we did for sure 🌞 Let's start our weekend by introducing our Category Leader of 'Lightshop.fi', Juho Mäkinen!

Juho started his career at Arrant-Light pretty early as a kid by helping his parents and grandparents around the office, like packing orders and stamping papers with his mother. In 2018 he started working here permanently. Since the fall of 2021, Juho has been in charge of our online store 'Lightshop.fi' - new sales channel directed to consumers and businsses.

" My job description is quite wide. My main task is to manage our online store, for example, add new products, do the marketing, and help our customers when they need help. I also assist everyone else here at the office, like lighting and power supply measurements in the lab, and help with the logistics side when there is a hurry at the warehouse. I also help our marketing team, help at fair shows we attend, product design, and build demo lighting for our customers. "

Juho is clearly our Jack-of-all-trades, isn't he? 🤩

On May 16th, we celebrate the light being the center of our lives and the role it has in science, culture, art, and education.

Our CEO Janne went on a boat trip on the weekend and took some photos at 10 PM here in Finland when it was still bright and later in the evening when the moon started to shine bright 🌙

Happy Friday! Today we'll get to know a little bit more about our Team Lead Taru Oksala 🌞

Taru has been in Arrant-Light since 2018. As a Team Lead in sales and marketing, she is responsible for ensuring that everything moves forward smoothly and everyone knows what task is next. Her job role is pretty extensive, for example, she does at Arrant our recruitment, budgets, reporting marketing and sales campaigns, trade shows, and marketing materials. She is the one who knows everything whats going on in the house!

" My favorite memory in Arrant is when the company turned 35 in 2019, our team went to Milan. On that trip, we visited, for example, the Milan University's light and color laboratory and the Milan Triennale Design Exhibition and ate such delicious food in good company. In my free time, I seek balance in my life with a hobby of art and crafts. I have even been an art journal teacher in an adult education center! "

Taru is the one who knows everything whats going on in the house. And by everything, we mean it!

Let us introduce our second category leader, Oskari Viitaniemi 💡

Oskari is one of the newest members of our team. He started at Arrant-Light in September 2021 and is responsible for the category of power supplies and lighting control. He is the one who knows how to light up and control your light source the right way!

"I have a BBA degree in professional sales from Turku University of Applied Sciences. My everyday work consists of keeping up with customer projects, product management, and an enjoyable cup of coffee. My favorite memory from Arrant-Light is our great team and all the activities we do together at work, but also in our free time! I'm already looking forward to next summer and planning on going hiking in some beautiful National Park here in Finland. "

Today on 22th April we are celebrating Earth Day 🌎

Green thinking is very important to us in Arrant-Light. We are constantly developing our products to get the best quality, energy efficiency, and longevity.

We strive to reduce plastic in all our packaging and come up with new ecological solutions. In our packaging material, we hardly use any plastic, only if it's necessary for the safety of the products.

For example in the picture you can see our standard LED module packing which is made from carton and there is only antistatic plastic between layers.

Have you met our category leader Tero Nurmi?

Tero has been in our house for over 10 years and specialized in light sources, such as LED modules and COB LEDs. You can often find him in our measurement laboratory studying the properties of both LED light sources and LED power supplies.

"I have a master’s degree in engineering, and technical physics, in particular, was my major alongside a broad minor in electronics. I don’t own a lab coat, but a physicist’s curiosity when results aren’t expected. It always seems that the laws of physics do not always apply in the Arrant-Light space, but usually, a more concrete answer will eventually be found to strange measurement results that are not predicted. "

Global Recycling Day, celebrated on March 18 every year, is a recycling initiative that encourages us to look at our trash in a new light. ♻️ To us, it’s very important how the components that we import have been packed. We aim to minimize the excess packaging waste, avoid plastic, and design packaging that is user-friendly, easy, and effortless to handle. The same goes for our components as well.
