The Cacao Fiji project is embarking on a “Cocoa Acceleration Program” in collaboration with MPI to distribute 50,000 seedlings that will benefit some 100 farmers to increase supply of cocoa and farmer livelihood. Meet our new cocoa farmer, Ratu Orisi's from Rakiraki region. Currently a sugar cane farmer , Orisi has inherited a large cocoa farm that was abandoned . Our extension officers are assisting in rehabilitation, training and development . Orisi is now a focused cocoa farmer with guaranteed market access by Cacaofiji. He has planted 1000 new cocoa seedlings.
Our current market demand is 100 MT export that will bring foreign reserves and contribute to unemployment and poverty in rural areas .
