Extension visitation is one of our very important programs run here at Tutu, as this is where we begin to meet the people, inwhich it is the very heart of our service in our Mission and it is the first place that we connect with the people, firstly getting in touch with their felt needs and driving them to Tutu and to let them Discover their real needs.
Our latest visitation on Vanua Levu areas consisted with 32 villages including a few settlements, recruiting single women's for our 2024 course. It also included visiting the 33 applicants that have applied, tapping on our 2020 graduated farming couples on their 5yrs development plan, our 2021 KYF's too with their house building progress. Our one on one interviews with our ex participants is always very Inspiring on how they have moved on and admitting their weaknesses as a source of their new growth.
The visitation was also challenging, having long hours drive from village to village, sleepless nights, greeted by kava almost every where we stopped, traveling by fiber boats to areas where the roads does not reach and at times walking to get to other village's, but we still find it enjoyable & interesting for we are getting to meet more & more new faces, new places and this is all part of our Mission.
Once again we would like to acknowledge all our Donars & Benefactors for your love and unending support in our Mission, vinaka vakalevu.

The recent completion of the introduction to soil health has opened doors to farmer led research among farmers. Tutu Rural Training Center has been engaging Organic Matters Foundation to run Soil School program for a numbers of years now and it has helped rural farmers to be good stewards in tilling their land and at the same time create an environment that farmers are farming the ecosystems. Topics discuss include human and the planet, regenerative agriculture, farm productivity and profit, practical regenerative farm management, basic record keeping, mapping & risk assessment and understanding inputs in regenerative agriculture. The program is to empower farmers to remember what they already know. ,

The 2023 TRTC Parents Course came into completion . The first three days were spent with sessions on the aims and art of parenting, the six stages of parenting, communicating with young people, generation gap and the reality facing them with 18,000 young people finishing form 6 and 7 in Fiji but only four thousand going on to study and the rest coming back to the village. We tell them there is nothing wrong with them or their children when they come back to the villages and have not stayed in towns for work. We have to work hard convincing them because they think it is a sign of failure that they have paid an investment in education and in their eyes have got nothing back for it. So we go through all of this very careful and thoroughly. The major point in the course midway in the week when we take them all up on their tractors to the young farmers plantation to where they see the yaqona and dalo plantations dripping with dollars
