More Than Our Bellies, a cookbook by Phillip Lim & Viviane Sassen.

The idea for the book came from Lim’s frequent collaborator, Dutch artist Viviane Sassen, whose contributions to the volume include her photographs of outdoor markets in Africa. She layered the images with paint from Posca markers. “It’s like adding an unexpected element when you’re cooking,” she says.

The book features 12 recipes, influenced primarily by the home cooking Lim ate as a kid. Other dishes are inspired by his childhood in Orange County’s Little Saigon and his trips to the markets in New York City’s Chinatown. “Through food,” he says, “you can express appreciation, respect and love for people—and for yourself, too.”

Viviane Sassen - Mud Of Lotus

This new work is focusing on artist’s attention for female power and with collages and unique handcoloured pieces, Sassen creates images in which abstraction andperformance intertwine. In this evocative and imaginary realm of intense colour and textures, the imagery is rich with associative references that allow for layered readings and responses. Her new works also include seemingly abstract compositions: mundane objects and apparently incidental motifs are transformed with collage, filters and streaks of pigment to the point of where their original forms lie unrecognizable below Sassen’s interventions.

After the success of the former publication “Lexicon” in collaboration with artbeat publishers, this is the second “Japanese photo book” the artist has published. With the delicate embroidery on the cover, the book design represents Sassen’s aesthetic eye on the world.

Invader 4000

This 1024-page work brings together all the “space invaders”, whether they are still on a wall or not. The mysterious French artist behind this globe-trotting mosaic traveled to more than 170 cities around the world for 25 years. With hundreds of thousands of tiles, the space invaders break all records. There are now 4,000 of these works, the last of which was produced at an altitude of 4,000 meters in Potosi (Bolivia).
