The Glass Key
Situated in the heart of the Cité de l'Ecrit in Montmorillon, France a small shop selling a wide range of books and antiques.
The books are mostly in English, but an increasingly wide range of books in French is being offered.
Just sold a copy of Roseanne Barr’s autobiography. Title: Roseanne My Life as a Woman. Given the current obsessive interest in things LGBT this might well be open to misinterpretation.
A great book with recipes based on the Hay Diet. It might have benefited from an introduction by Jack Straw and an afterword by Captain Oates!
The autobiography of Brenda Blethyn perhaps? And only 5 euros
I shall be away in Ireland next week so the shop will be closed. Hoping to see queues at the door in March!

Having acquired a considerable collection of DVDs and CDs - quality films from several countries and music with an emphasis on classical and jazz - I am going to list them here on Facebook before casting my net wider. Prices will be reasonable (of course!) and I will happily post any item to wherever you might be.
Please make sure you are following The Glass Key to see the items as they are listed.
Listing films and CDs will be done piecemeal over an extended period of time so keep watching!
Well worth a visit this weekend - not only for books, but for a street full of tempting offerings and festive cheer
I cannot decide whether I am afraid of cats or cats are afraid of me, but when one sits on my lap it is peur, peur, peur.
For any Elena Ferrante fan. And the book pairs well with Richard Branson’s autobiography.

I am not the pheasant stuffer, nor the pheasant stuffer’s son,
But I have a fine stuffed pheasant and it’s yours for a small sum.

Rue de la Poelerie en fete today and tomorrow. Bargains to be had together with ice cream and gauffres.
As an unattached male of a certain age I suppose I am going through the womenopause.
It becomes increasingly difficult to find this, certainly one of the best in the "I moved to France" tales and with a cameo appearance by Montmorillon's own Hero Gregory. And yours for 4.00€.
For a mere 5€ you too can be a bilingual hypochondriac
