There’s no gem that better reflects the colors and sparkle of the ocean than high-quality Paraiba. The gemstone gets it name from the Brazilian state of Paraiba, where it was first unearthed in 1980s.

Authors:
Kevin Ferreira, a gemologist, is a specialist in Paraiba. He brings experience and expertise into the world by tracing the origins of Paraiba in Brazil and later in Mozambique and Nigeria.
Katerina Perez, the most recognizable jewelry influencer. She discusses Paraiba’s role in jewelry design.
