We are posting pictures of shows all the time, but improv wouldn't be the same without the support of all the amazing artists, designers, photographers that work with us!
We've been lucky to be shot by Gaëlle Hartmann, Boris Kondev, Bartosch Salmanski, Alicja Trojnar, or Mathieu van den Berk to just mention a few. We've been painted by Claire Davies or Ashley Moore, designed by Damien Bechler and others... Improv can exist and shine only thanks to you all!
Mention your amazing support artists to give them the spotlight!
And of course what would be a show without lights? Light improvisers are hard workers, have an amazing vision of what is possible, create art and theatre out of our fun characters. They are filling the stage for us.
We worked with numerous light improvisers, and to name just a few of them, Emil Struijker Boudier is back on the list, Marco Hollinger was the red thread of Sacrebleu! festival in Strasbourg, or Kiva Murphy on Switch.
Thank you to all of them, and continue to praise them! Who are the light tech' you love having as a player for your show?
On Monday we talked about our favorite live improv musicians, but sometimes the artist behind the music isn't playing on an instrument but skill-fully playing songs, choosing which track fits at which moment, bringing all their knowledge and love for music for the improvisers present on stage and the audience.
We've been lucky enough to perform multiple times with some very talented sound improvisers such as Emil Struijker Boudier, Laura Doorneweerd-Perry or Niceol Blue!
What are your amazing sound improvisers that just blew off the roof with their music?
When we improvise on stage, we tend to see a lot of the same faces, congratulate a lot of the same faces for their work, their jokes, their amazing scenes. And we tend to forget that the 'invisible' members of the show are also improvisers.
Today we'd like to thank all the amazing musicians we were lucky enough to perform with. Karol Bulski, Sébastien Cancela, Ingmar Dasseville, Loris Gomboso, Sacha Hoedemaker, Phil Lunn, Joe Samuel and so much more. Our shows have been successful thanks to YOU!
If you watch a show, don't forget to thank them. If you take pictures of a show, don't forget to shoot them. If you are playing with them, don't forget that you'd be lost without them. Let's love them harder!
Share your love for your improv live musicians in the comment section!

Very often, Cédric, Dan and Gael are taken for brothers. They are French, have brownish hair, wear glasses and a beard. Are they brothers, though? Aren't they ... the same person?!
Once Cédric and Gael went to Moscow to teach and perform with the Moscow Improv Club. We were there for only two nights and invited by our good friend Dina Mild. During these two fantastic days in addition to great improv, we had the full Russian experience: overloaded taxi over the snow, traditional food, cheering at every glass of alcohol, being cold, and seeing the Red Square like a postcard (picture taken by Gael).
And you, what's a place you discovered in the perfect conditions thanks to improv?
Once, Cédric and Dan were on TV in the US, to help advertise the Sarasota Improv Festival where we were invited by our friend Will Luera. It was a lot of fun, and their "Frenchness" definitely got them close to the heart of the hosts!
And you, what's a fun advertising moment you had for one of your shows?
Once, Dan and Gael played an improv show in the national football stadium of Latvia. We were invited by our friend Kaspars Breidaks and played members of the national team training, in the changing room, and on the field!
And you, what's your craziest location you played a show to?
Sometimes as improvisers members of a community, we are afraid to compete with each other, that there is a limited amount of students / audience members / gigs. And we feel like we need to defend our slice of cake because if someone gets a bigger slice the consequence is that we will get a smaller one.
With A&P we believe that we should praise each other, talk about each other and not be afraid of scarcity. As Gael is moving from Strasbourg to Amsterdam, he wrote an article based on the comparison between the two cities, his experience with it and the belief of abundance!

A&P used to travel for the company Cédric, Dan and Gael created back in Strasbourg: IMPRO Alsace - Cie La Carpe Haute. Cédric and Dan are excited to announce that the company is changing its name!
If you ever are in Strasbourg and are looking for them, you can look for IMPRO ALSACE!
Gael moved to the Netherlands to continue his life and career in Amsterdam. He created there a brand new school and improvised theatre company with Laura called Flock Theatre!
If you are around and you want to try improv, see a show, take advanced classes, you can check the schedule on the beautiful website Gael created: https://www.flock-theatre.com/
Along with Manuel Speck, Gael is artistic director of the Improfestival Karlsruhe for next year. It will take place from Feb 25 to Feb 27 2021, and you can now apply with your team to perform a show!
Three shows will be selected to perform alongside a terrific main cast, and will be produced by the festival. You can find the application here: https://forms.gle/wvFH99Phs9eVPGg98/
This Saturday, for the 20th Saturday almost in a row, our friend Laura Doorneweerd-Perry is organising a meetup online for womxn and non-binary improvisers. It is always full of joy, of interesting sessions and of shared moments with people from all over the world.
It will be on Saturday, Sep 12, from 10am to 11:30am (CET), and you can find more info, the links and everything on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/322567628813149/
Our friends Katy Schutte and Chris Mead created a new social network dedicated to improvisational theatre and improvisers. The Improv Place is open to anyone interested in the art form and in connecting with an awesome community from all over the world!
There are plenty of resources on it, good talks, themed months, masterclasses and free drop-ins, and plenty more things! You can check it out on https://www.theimprov.place/.

Anananas & Pampamplemousse lead an internal interview between Cédric, Dan and Gael, and it appears in this month's issue of Status!

We asked each other three questions each, to know everything from our favorite fruits to our darkest and deepest improv secrets. That's the best way to learn to know who are the humans behind A&P!

The Summer is almost over, but the sun is still shining hard in our hearts! We can finally look forward for some real-life improv coming soon!
In November we are invited to teach and perform in Bucharest in Romania for their amazing festival IMPRO. It will take place in the all-improv theatre Recul that has been entirely built in the last two years. We are super-thrilled to go there, so stay tuned because next week we will announce more of what you can expect from us there!

Our three companions do not always perform in English, and they primarily come from French-speaking improv.
The main format performed by the French-speaking community is the improv match, for which two teams face each other in decorum inspired by hockey. In 2017, we were invited by the AVLI : Association Vaudoise des Ligues d'Improvisation (Suisse) and Impro Suisse - Vaud to perform right before New Years Eve in a beautiful ski resort in Switzerland, for two nights of match in front of 200 people that were just discovering improv.
Not only the players, but the whole staff was made of amazing improvisers, and we had a few days of pure on- and off-stage happiness in the snow!
