What a visit to Brewdog HQ in Ellon 🍻 Thank you everyone for joining us today and Brewdog for the opportunity!
🍺We got to do beer tasting - and learn how sulphur, oxygen, and diacetyl affect the taste of beer.
🧪We visited the chemical and microbiological laboratories at Brewdog and learned about their quality messurements.
👷♀️We also got a full tour of the production facilities - we saw how they turn malt barley step by step to beer by fermentation.
It was fun recognising the different process equipment and processes we had learned about in real life!

👇Process Engineering Weekly Insights: Types of Hazards in Industry 👇
Hazards can occur on site for many different reasons, and it's important for us as engineers to ensure that we are aware of all the different types so we are best prepared when a situation like this might present itself, as identification is the first step that comes before prevention!
There are six main types of hazard: Chemical, Biological, Physical, Safety, Ergonomic, and Psychological hazards!

👇 Process Engineering Weekly Insights: Steam gasification👇
Steam gasification usually refers to a gasification process that uses steam as the gasifying agent. Using this type of gasification method will provide more opportunity for water-gas shift reactions to occur, which may be an upgrade to the type of syngas produced from the fuel used in this process.
Fluidisation beds are usual applications for this type of process, although other types can be used.

Hi everyone! 👷♀️👷♂️
We would like to thank everyone who attended the IChemE Final Year Presentation, organised by AU ChemEng Society, earlier this morning 🤩.
We hope students who attended this found the insights on resources, chartership, professional development 👔 and support both as a student and after graduation beneficial.
A copy of the PowerPoint slides 💻 and useful resource links 🔗 have been made available to all final year UG students who accessed the meeting invitation.
If you are in another year/programme but wish to view these, please reach out to us via Facebook, Instagram or on [email protected] 📧 and we will provide these to you.
We would like to thank IChemE for their time today in delivering the presentation and providing very valuable information.
Any further queries, comments or feedback is always appreciated 😊.
👇Process Engineering Weekly Insights: Nuclear Reactors 👇
A nuclear reactor is a vessel that is able to maintain and preform nuclear reactions. The aim behind nuclear reactors is to produce a lot of energy to fuel the world of today. Nuclear reactors contain reactions such as fission which consists of the splitting of atomic nuclei by being hit by a neutron to produce energy.
