Good news! Who will be signing up?

The Aberdeenshire Enduro Series is back again! Well almost, as we’re just waiting for the final go ahead from a couple of landowners, but we’re optimistic we’ll get that within the next week. We intend to run a three event series this year and we’re excited to announce the first event will be at the legendary Pitfichie forest on 26th June. Our AES dates of 31st July and 11th September remain unchanged and we’ll be announcing locations for these as soon as we can.

As most of you will know, Aberdeenshire's forests were massively affected by winter storms over the winter with millions of trees blown over across the region, affecting hundreds of paths and trails. We would like to give special thanks to all the landowners for allowing these events to take place, given everything else going on to try to recover from this difficult situation. We would also like to thank the countless unsung heroes who have helped restore many of the trails affected by the storms.

We’d also like to give a huge shout out to all the amazing sponsors for this year's events, which has allowed us to add two new female categories. So thank you to Add Energy, eguide Scotland, Cyclehighlands, Ride in Peace Adventures, Bike Remedy, peakathlete, 20TwentyStore, Banchory Cycles, Gamola Sports and Rembikes and Coffee Bothy. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to put on the AES.

We’re expecting a massive demand again this year. So if you’re wanting to take part make sure you sign up quickly once entries open. We’ll be posting more info on that and an entry link on Facebook around two weeks before race day. We can't wait to see you all and get back racing!

Great to be a part of this

After a lot of toing and froing, we can now share the final dates and locations for this year’s Aberdeenshire Enduro Series. Unfortunately we have not been able to obtain permission for the event which we had planned to run on the 20th June. This is due to ongoing concerns that one of the landowners has with mountain biking on their land. We are working on a plan with them to help with this, but it won't be in time for June (perhaps 2022?).

The good news is that we’d been working on a backup plan and we will still deliver a fantastic three events , as follows:

· 25th July - Pitfichie
· 29th August - Drumtochty
· 10th October - Scolty

We are super excited to have Scolty Hill as a brand new location this year. It’s somewhere we know many of you really wanted to see as an enduro location. It is actually where we first tried to run our first event, around five years ago! At the time we weren't successful in getting permission from Forestry Commission Scotland. Seven successful enduros later we're chuffed that our good track record has allowed us permission to include this iconic Aberdeenshire riding spot in AES2021.

In terms of entries, we will be opening these around 2 weeks before the events to allow us to give the participants the most up to date information about the event before they enter.
