Vocational Success! ⭐️

Huge congratulations to both Morven and Daisy ! Both achieved Distinction in RAD Advanced 2 examination! A massive achievement! 👏

Advanced 2 is the pinnacle and final exam of the RAD vocational grades- rare to achieve unless at vocational school. Succes with Distinction allows candidates to enter for the prestigious Fonteyn International Ballet competion (what was the Genée) where alumni Harris Beattie won the Gold medal in 2017.

Both Daisy and Morven were part of our Enhanced Programme and trained at least 3 times a week at Danscentre. They expertly juggled their school workload and with their dance studies. Not only did they achieve Distinction in all dance exams but also all As in SQA Higher results.

Special credit too to their commitment to travel - rarely missing a class, with Daisy traveling from Montrose and Morven traveling most Saturdays to London as a Senior Associate at The Royal Ballet School.

Both have also been training in the Royal Ballet School’s new Affiliate Programme (ATAP) and were demonstrators for the new work to be used as a teaching resource for teachers on the programme.

There is no doubt that their mindset, work ethic and ability to time and life manage have brought them huge success. 🙌

We wish Diasy all the best as she now leaves to study Medicine at Dundee University and Morven Ballet at RCS. 📚

Huge congrats to our National 5 & Higher Dance students who received results today! All Nat 5s achieved an A pass - at all either S2 or S3 - this is a great achievement! Highers smashed it too with 70% gaining an A and 30% a B. Time to celebrate all that hard work - we are so proud of you all - go team!!🥰🥳💪💪

We didn’t manage to get a photo of all of our class assistants as they are all so busy in class but we do want to say a massive THANK YOU 🙏🥰❤️ to all of our class assistants and volunteers for 2023-2024. They are an inspiration to all of the children and do so much to support each child’s development and enjoyment of class! We couldn’t do it without them 👏

We’re delighted to share that DC student Lilybell has accepted her place to train at Emil Dale Academy on their BA Musical Theatre after receiving offers from multiple schools! 👏🥳

Lilybell says “I am really grateful to all of the teachers at Danscentre for the opportunity to train at such a high level in all dance genres : modern, ballet, contemporary, tap and commercial. I felt really at home at Emil Dale when I auditioned, was impressed by the versatile training they offer and am really excited to be going there in September!”

RAD EXAMS 💙

Last but not least, our special Grade 8’s! A huge accomplishment to achieve this final RAD Grade in their final week at Danscentre 👏 They’ve been hugely committed to dancing, particularly whilst also managing their Higher’s and Advanced Higher’s at school and their attendance and hard work during class has paid off!

After Level 1 we jumped to the RAD Grade 5 solo performance award in this exam session. These students have had a busy time with their Grade 5 Modern exam too just a few weeks before and they have all worked exceptionally hard to achieve their best in both disciplines! 🪩🩰 Well done 👏

DC Level 1 Ballet Award 🏅

Assessor Miss Mackley and teacher Miss Thayne thoroughly enjoyed watching these dancers confidently showing their Level 1 vocabulary and knowledge in their DC Award before the holidays! 👏

Grade 5 and 6 DC students had a wonderful time performing at the Miltimber Gala on Saturday to finish off the term! Lovely to be invited back to a wonderfully run event 🙏

Throughout the year Danscentre is always looking out for opportunities for students to perform 🎭 Over the last academic they’ve performed at the VSA Ball, Christmas Light Switch On, Beach Ballroom, Sostrene Grene opening and the Miltimber Gala!

RAD EXAMS 💕 Happy faces before their first ever RAD exam this week : Pre-Primary!

A big achievement to step into the studio, particularly with not so much time to prepare as they also participated in the Junior Show back in March. 🎭 It’s been a busy year for our littlest dancers and all of their teachers are really proud of what they’ve achieved!

Leavers Part 2 (and missing a few with proms, trips etc!) Lovely to have loved ones in to watch ballet, contemporary and modern for this lot 🌹❤️ Good luck to those also sitting their Grade 8 exam too in their final days at DC!
