We are conditioned from birth to become a particular human. We are conditioned and taught to act, behave and respond to life in particular ways depending on our family, culture, political climate, educational system and societal beliefs. Our identity is tied up in approval and validation of being that socially acceptable person. However, just below the surface of conscious awareness is a river of unrest telling us there is something missing. That there is something not quite right. It's our true nature seeking a chance to be heard, to be seen and to be embraced. #mindfulnesspractice #mindfulnesstraining #selfcare #mindsetmatters #selfleadership
The more we repair the relationship we have with ourselves, the less reactive we become towards others and triggering situations. The more we practice being mindful with an open compassionate heart the more we are able to see past the perceived bad behaviour of others to the humans, the vulnerabilities of being human, and to our innate goodness. A lesson I learned the other day. #mindfulness #compassionatecare #Beingpresent #lifelessonslearned #reactive

Are you trying to fix, sanitise and correct being human? You may be surprised about this trend. STOP trying to get rid of, or fix Imposter Syndrome. It's a natural human response to letting go of the old and embracing the new. It's just growing pains folks. There is nothing wrong with you. #impostersyndrome #lifeskills #mentalhealthawareness #emotionalintelligence #mindfulnesspractice
Why is it so hard to forgive? I am not talking about faking forgiving where you talk about it, and pretend to people that you have forgiven but inside you are so in pain and full of resentment. That's not forgiving. That's when we fear not being liked or accepted by others, or not thought well of, so we pretend. I think we find it so hard because we have not been shown how to, We have been made to believe it is an easy process. It's not, and it's complicated because of our cultural, societal beliefs and lifestyles. Forgiveness is about letting go of the resentment. When we hold onto the resentful bitter feelings that demand justice of some kind that may never happen, it's like drinking poison hoping the other person gets sick. Forgiveness is a process that is first turned towards the self. This is where we start. #forgivenessheals #mindfulnessmatters #resentment #selflove #freedom

Tom is a 60 something year old man. He has worked in a bank all his life working his way up to a management position. Work, promotion and status was what he thought one of the most important things in life. He put his all into work, into his family, into others. He was and is incredibly well respected. In retirement he continues to work in service to others. He pushes his body through gruelling daily exercise regimes. Tom struggles with what he believes is being soft or weakness and pushes through pain. Tom has often been laid up with injuries when his body can no longer be pushed any further. He struggles with allowing himself time to heal, so finds other ways to keep doing things. This is how he deals with pain. Then one day he contracts Covid. What happened to Tom? #kindnessmatters #mindfulness #painmanagement
