We often fall into the trap of pushing, pushing and forcing habits and behaviours to change.
We think that I just need stronger willpower. We end up falling into the mistaken belief that if I just push these thoughts away out of my mind, avoid or suppress a certain emotion, memory or belief and force myself to only say and think positive things everything will miraculously change.
If that was the case the world would be in a better place, so don't fall for all those quick fix coaching videos on you tube.
When a storm appears, we can't wish it away or pretend it's not there. We have to be aware of it's characteristics of what it is capable of. If we don't take heed of it's potential power, we could be severely hurt. We face it, and work with it to bravely move through it, and trust that it will change and the sun will appear again.
I think this is our future when it comes to our perception of healing.
I wonder if this can be said of all of our pets, farm animals and perhaps all animals.
I know I feel more love in the presence of any animal, bird, fish or mammal. x
Recent studies conducted by the Institute of Heart-Math provide a clue to explain the two-way ′′healing′′ that occurs when we're close to horses.
According to researchers, the heart has an electromagnetic field larger than the brain: a magnetometer can measure the energy field of the heart that radiates from 2.4 meters to 3 meters around the human body.
While this is certainly significant, perhaps more impressive than the electromagnetic field projected by the heart of a horse is five times larger than that of a human being (imagine an electromagnetic sphere around the horse) and it can influence straight into our own heart rate.
Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent′′ heart rate (heart rate pattern) that explains why we can feel better when we're close to them. Studies have found a coherent heart pattern or HRV to be a solid measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy-that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.
A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adapt to stressful situations very efficiently. Many times, we just need to be in the presence of horses to feel a sense of well-being and peace.
In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits by interacting with horses, including lower blood pressure and heart rate, higher beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters acting as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, decreased feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, better social working; and greater feelings of empowerment, confidence, patience and self-efficacy.

For anyone interested in how stimulating and massaging certain points in the feet can improve the functioning of certain organs.

Watch with an open curiosity as they change and alter minute by minute.
That's what our thoughts and feelings do. Let them float on by. Sit and observe them with an open curiosity, not judging as they move and change. It would be a complete thankless and totally useless task to try to hold onto a cloud and stop it from changing. It would drive you mad and probably cause unnecessary pain and anguish.
Remind yourself of this when you get locked in the habitual habit of ruminating over the past or constantly worrying about the future.
Go on give yourself a treat. They're not just for dogs. 😄

My Story
Do you often feel aches and pains in the same area of your body and overwhelmed with stress? Don't worry, you are not alone. These problems often stem from common causes and we can work together to find out what they are and free you from them.
My name is Mia and I Believe in the Possibilities of the Alternative.
I am the owner of Natural Re-aligning and Healing Therapies which started up as a part-time business on 1st August 2014 while working at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a Care Manager. I have worked in a variety of health and care settings for 20 years, initially qualifying as a Social Worker with BA(Hons) in Social Sciences with Diploma in Social Work, COSCA Certificate in Counselling skills and INSYT Foundation Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy. I then developed an interest in complementary therapies, which I found complimented the work I was doing with young people and adults suffering from not only the physical aspects of pain but also the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, abuse and loss.
I am now qualified in a range of therapies that correct misalignments in the joints and the spine, rebalance the energy pathways and reset cellular memory thereby addressing conditions in the body caused by back and joint pain in addition to addressing the effects of chronic pain, loss, trauma and abuse.
