St. Columba's Church of Scotland, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen
Our main service (meeting) is at 1030am on Sunday. There's lots going through the week as well.
St Columba's Church is a Christian congregation situated in the Bridge of Don, a suburb on the northern edge of the city of Aberdeen, within walking distance of the university halls of residence. The people of St Columba's Church love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Our goals are Bible-centred preaching, prayer, Christian support for one another, sharing the good news about Jesus, and community service.
You are warmly invited to join us for our Friendship Group which meets every second Thursday in the Church from 2-3.30pm (next meeting on 7 November) with a varied programme to suit all and finishing up with a cuppa and great chat. We'd love to see you there!

It is coming up to the Christmas period and this year, the charity, Stella's Voice, is appealing for bars of soap/general toiletries to send out to Ukraine. It may seem like something simple but when you are living in uncertain times, it is often the simple things you would like but cannot have. It would be wonderful, if when you are doing your weekly shop, you could maybe pick up some bars of soap or toiletries in general and pop them into the box in the foyer at Church. The appeal will run until Thursday 21st November. Thanking you in advance.
BOOK KEEPING ROLE AS PART OF THE CHURCH FINANCE TEAM
This is a copy of a request made during the Sunday service by Evelyn Paterson, for help with the Book Keeping role as part of the Church Finance Team.
- there are lots of opportunities to serve within our church, and it’s always great to see so many playing their part in different ways. I’m here today to ask you to consider serving in a very particular way.
- we have seen God consistently provide for us financially as a church and we give thanks for that.
- we are able to use that money in many ways, for the general running of the building and the congregation and to enable us to share the gospel within our community
- to do this, we need to make sure our finances are being properly recorded and managed well. To this end, we have a finance committee covering different roles.
- one key role in this is book keeping- I have been doing this but now need to hand it over to someone else for health reasons
- it takes roughly 10 hours a month and needs some MS Excel skills but you don’t have to be a Whizz kid, nor do you need to be an accountant. I am neither!
- would you please prayerfully consider taking on this role. We will make sure you are supported.
- please speak to me, or Angela or Brian if you are able to help, or to find out more about the book keeping role.
Our next Soup and Singalong will take place on Sunday 13 October immediately after the service finishes. We'd love for you to join us and if you do know that you'll be able to attend, please add your name to the sign up sheet in the foyer. However, it's also perfectly ok to simply come along on the day.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our Harvest Thanksgiving Appeal. The response has been phenomenal! Everyone has been very generous and the food banks are very grateful. Many people will benefit from your generosity. The donations have been shared with Instant Neighbour and The Cyrenians.
Our annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be on Sunday 29 September. The church will be decorated with flowers and vegetables that day.
Every week, the people of St Columba's are very generous with food donations and we thank you very much for that. However, we would ask if you could make an extra special effort to bring non perishable goods for the foodbank that day or on any of the Sundays leading up to the 29th.
We will deliver all the goods to Instant Neighbour who are always very grateful for your donations. Thank you.
