Hi All.
Apologies for the lack of interaction on here, still juggling a few balls at the moment!
I have a couple of things to pop on later today but just a quick update on how it’s all going😃.
All settled in now, tweaks being made. The lighting was changed out this week and it’s made a huge difference, although I’m now feeling the need to put more make up on standing under it all day🙈🤣.
New chair finally ordered to match😃
Perspex sheet still to go on the wall behind the basin but Rome wasn’t built in a day🤣🤣.
Thank you all for your continued support. So happy to of welcomed clients old and new to my wee salon💖
Just over a month in and it’s certainly feeling more normal now😃
Still a few tweaks to be done but on the whole I’m happy with how it’s going.
It’s been a long road with one thing or another, Would just like to say a big thank you to you all for your continued support😊
Plumbers been….and it’s done!
Well…ish, aside from the odd chair, the units still need to be finished and I have yet to put some other bits and pieces in so it’s less bare. Will get a better feel for things once I am working in the space.
All set for my first client tomorrow😄
I have things fixed to the wall😃
(Excuse the black chair, had to get a make do one till I order another chair)
Now for the plumber this afternoon🤞🤞🤞🙏
Getting there! Things still to be fixed to the walls and the sink to be plumbed in by Wednesday. My plumber assures me he will be tomorrow afternoon🤞🤞eek!!
I now have flooring!
Finishing touches to the toilet today😃
Lots of little jobs done this week. Big week next week! Flooring goes down on Monday and the furniture will be here by the end of the week🤞 Meantime it looks pretty in the dark😃
So today my funcy radiator went in, tomorrow the blinds and hopefully by the end of the week the new toilet/sink will be in.
It’s coming together🤞😃
Good news! I have sussed out the coffee machine, bad news…I may be awake all night🤪🤣
Excited to try this bad boy out tomorrow😃
Although I fear I may need a degree to work it!
Proper coffee for my new salon😃
Some pictures of the work so far😃
Just waiting for it all to come together in the next few weeks. Flooring to go down, blinds installed, toilet re fit, radiators to go in, furniture to arrive…. I’m sure there’s probably something else Iv forgotten🤣
EXCITING TIMES AHEAD!!
From April I shall be working from home in kingswells. I am converting my garage into a fully functioning, professional salon space. It has its own access and toilet separate from the house. Not forgetting FREE parking on the drive😃 And the coffee machine has been ordered😃
In doing this I hope to be able to offer a more relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere.
Where I can be more flexible in accommodating appointments.
As most of you will know I have had quite a time of it this year, and it’s only March!
So I’m now pushing on to get it finished, my last day at Crowning glory will be the 2nd of April.
I would very much like to welcome all of my clients. I will of course be in touch to let you all know the details.
I am crossing my fingers that you will all like it and that I’m doing the right thing🤞🤞🤞
I shall post more photos of what’s been done and what’s happening in the coming weeks.
Having a well deserved night away this weekend to relax and switch off from everything (and not have to paint anything🤣)
A couple of recent balayage type colours. These differ slightly as both have been done with a permanent tint on the roots.
Karen’s is a more subtle blend as it’s the first time we have done this.
Angela’s is building on an old colour, to achieve a blonder look.
These type of colours are more work than a standard tint and highlights but worth the effort (the lighting in the salon doesn’t do it justice). As you are lifting on top of tint but similar also applies to balayage without tint, the more frequently you do them the lighter the ends will get. To maintain the integrity and condition it is best to build up the colour.
Another Saturday another balayage type colour😃
Using sheer acidic toner which is designed for fragile pre lightened hair, the built in primer hydrates and nourishes hair to give an even, flawless finish.
Must remember to take before pictures🙈
The lighting wasn’t great either! 😂
Nice balayage touch up this morning.
They can be time consuming and fiddly but when you get it right it’s worth it😃
Hi all😃
I’m having a think about changing my colour brand. I currently use Wella and I’m considering changing to L’Oréal.
I had a client in who likes a BRIGHT red (it can never be red enough😂) having used various products previously I remembered about one of the L’Oréal reds I used to use. They have since changed the formulation to give 100% coverage on white hair, you usually need to add base colour to cover which reduces the vibrancy. I will be honest and admit I was dubious and said a prayer as I rinsed the colour off 🙏 😂 but I was really amazed at the coverage without sacrificing the brightness.
The whole colour range has been overhauled and they have a range of cool enforced colours which I think would be very popular.
Let me know if you have any thoughts😃
Think that’s been running for the last 3 weeks😃
