Fresh faces in the Rumpus team mean fresh volunteering hours to support local charities 🤝

joined us in May, and for her B Corp hours, she’s chosen to support - a charity tackling period poverty by creating period packs for those in need and delivering them across Greater Manchester.

Rumpus is powering up the charity’s social media presence, crafting a content schedule to engage its online community and inspire donations. We’re also working on some press announcements, and even hand-delivering some period packs.

As many workplace EDI policies are too generic and do the bare minimum, we developed our own.

B LONG™ is a vision for everyone to feel safe, speak up, knowing that their voice will be heard, their thoughts met with openness and their feelings validated.

This involves celebrating our individual differences because we understand that they make us stronger as a team, as a business and as a community.

Our EDI strategist and creator of B LONG, led a thought provoking session all about team building last month. This opened the team’s eyes to how we can best support and uplift each other💛

We tested our precision skills at Flight Club, indulged in some delicious food at Côte, tried some fabulous cocktails at Sterling Bar and jammed to our office-favourite music at Bunny Jacksons 🥂

Today marks World Mental Health day, a very meaningful day for many people. 🌎🧠

At Rumpus we don’t want to just preach about investing in mental health, we make a conscious effort to take action.

As a B Corp certified business, we ensure mental health is taken seriously and considered at all levels and in all aspects of the business. From open conversations and regular check ins, to mental health first aid training, our employees consistently prioritise mental health.

We want to have a positive impact on the wider community, as well as each other. Through volunteering, fundraising and hosting networking events for young professionals through YAP (Young Altrincham Professionals), we aim to uplift the community around us.

A new report from Canva has found that design literacy is sweeping the workplace.

Gen Z, described by the report as a visual generation, is leading the way, with 93% of those surveyed preferring visual methods as a way to articulate their ideas.

The report adds that 97% of UK business leaders expect employees to have design capabilities, with versatile, easy-to-use platforms like Canva helping make it easier than ever for people to add digital design skills to their CVs.

Threads two weeks on: Meta benefitted from over 100 million sign ups as curious social media users jumped to test out its alternative to the faltering Twitter.

However, some figures have mentioned a decline in engagement, with a 20% dip in daily users, of which were said to spend 50% less time on the app.

So, how does a social media platform engage users in 2021? On Instagram, Reels have been found to boost engagement by up to 40%, helping rejuvenate the app, Reels drawn directly from the success of TikTok.

We had so much fun trying out an OrangeTheory class and bringing ambitious young professionals together to connect.

The team attended Housing 2023 yesterday and enjoyed an excellent discussion chaired by Ben Townsend from Great Places Housing Group exploring delivering carbon neutral builds at scale. 🏘️

We learnt that 4.3 million homes in the UK are are not built with a fabric first approach. As the built environment sector accounts for 40% of carbon emissions in the UK, the onus has to fall on every business to prioritise strategies that harness sustainability.

Exhibiting at the show, our client Seddon is an industry leader in decarbonising the housing sector. The contractor recently joined the newly formed Greener Futures Partnership framework, designed to provide retrofit and professional consultancy services to support the energy efficiency of England and Wales.

Seddon have also created an affordable and scalable approach to Passivhaus. Currently being delivered in partnership with Salford City Council, Seddon’s 392 new homes set a new precedent for the industry’s approach to energy efficiency and tackling fuel poverty.
