The government has unveiled its plans for £500,000 of funding to the social housing sector to help challenge social landlords and improve resident engagement.

The training will help residents communicate effectively with their landlord to ‘demand a higher quality of service, where needed.’

It was a great night with fantastic networking opportunities and we look forward to the next event! 🎄

Yesterday we took a visit to one of our latest developments in Chester - a former dated vacant care home will now become a modern and bright 20 bedroom supported living facility.

Completing by the end of the month - this facility has undergone a complete transformation and we're excited to share the final photos next month once furnished.

England's Affordable housing scheme has fallen 32,000 homes short of target.

The contractors for one of our latest projects in Mexborough have featured in the local newspaper this weekend!

Concept Construction are on a mission to reunite a family photo album discovered behind a radiator cover at our site. It is believed to have belonged to to army veteran Geoffrey Smith.

Let's hope for some good news like us reuniting a lost wedding ring with Mr Staley's son earlier this month!

Yesterday RedSide were invited to Meta for Business's Good Ideas Studio Event.

It was a fantastic day to connect small business leaders with talks on growing your business community, building your brand and the power of social media.

The talks had some great speakers with innovative ideas for the growth of brand communities and the influence social media has on them. A great day!

Some feel good Friday news from RedSide today, Mr Staley's son has finally been reunited with his late father's wedding ring!

As you may know, we found a wedding ring in an envelope trapped down the side of a safe in one of our latest developments in Solihull. The property was a former care home so after lots of tracking down, we managed to find Mr Staley's son.

He was extremely grateful and we're glad we could find a happy ending for all those involved.

Autumn Statement - Social Housing Key Announcements:

◾ The government will cap the increase in social rents at a maximum of 7% in 2023-24.
◾ Supported housing providers will be excluded from having to comply with this policy, therefore rents will be allowed to rise by up to CPI + 1% in 2023-24 for this type of accommodation.
◾ Autumn Statement allocated up to £8bn in funding for NHS and adult social care by 2024/25. Of this, £3.3bn is targeted at helping the NHS reduce the number of patients who should be discharged into the care system.
◾ The government will allocate £1 billion in 2023 and £1.7 billion in 2024 for adult social care additional grant funding.
◾ "Today’s increase in funding will allow the social care system to help deliver an estimated 200,000 more care packages over the next two years."

Last week RedSide's Jack Evans attended the Krol Corlett Construction event in Liverpool 🥂

Thanks to Krol Corlett for a fantastic event, it was great celebrate their award-winning work at The Walker Art Gallery.

Today at 11am, our company will observe a two-minute silence in honour of all those who volunteered, sacrificed, served, fought, and died, for our freedom

📣 UPDATE - Some great news following our recent post trying to track down the family of Mr Staley to reunite them with his old wedding ring.

After lots of enquiries we are pleased to announce we have now been in contact with Mr Staley's son and will reunite the ring with him. He has expressed his sincere gratitude to us.

Thanks to everyone who shared the post or contacted us to try and help locate his family - this is a big win for us at RedSide today!

During the refurbishment of one of our latest properties in Solihull, our contractors found this envelope wedged down the side of a safe they were tearing out!

We really want to track down any potential family of this man so we can reunite them with a potential heirloom/keepsake. The property was a former care home so we are trying our hardest to connect with the previous owners/ directors to get some more information.

If any of our connections know of any way to find this man's family, we would greatly appreciate it!

Hopefully we have an update soon so fingers crossed 🤞

This property’s traditional Edwardian architecture has been conserved whilst renovating the property, something we were keen to factor into development.

An interesting article discussing how the 2019 manifesto pledge to get 300,000 new homes a year built in England is to be replaced by extensive supply side reforms.

"This policy might well get more homes built, but it could also deliver a hammer blow both to social housing providers and to the development of the affordable homes that were supposed to be the key to getting more young people onto the housing ladder and stimulating the property market as a whole." - Housing Digital

The measures are due to be announced officially next month by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities.

Government's attitude toward housing will deliver more homes - but less levelling-up Government plans to relax the affordable homes quota will hit social landlords' ability to deliver levelling-up the most, says Naismiths' Gareth Belsham.

Last Thursday RedSide hosted our very first Property Networking Event!

Altrincham 10k Runner 🏃
RedSide are a healthcare property developer dedicated to making a difference within the social housing and supported living sector.

RedSide’s Commercial Director - Andrew Baxter will be running Altrincham 10k.

Andrew will be running as part of a team from the Nowhere2hyde Training gym based in Sale and will be raising money for Once Upon a Smile charity. Once Upon a Smile is a children's bereavement charity that provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families in their time of need.

Andrew said “I like a challenge and it’s for a great cause so I’m excited to help raise some money and awareness!” He has run several 10ks previously – including Manchester and Hale.

Andrew loves working in Altrincham - the location is perfect for him and he likes the great local businesses based here including the bars and restaurants – “I’m also partial to a salad from Tosser at Alti Market!”.

Best of luck Andrew and make sure you give him a cheer as he whizzes by 🙌

We're excited to announce construction is progressing at our Sutton property. This property is right on the coast in Sutton on Sea with beautiful sea views and it will be a supported living facility.

The extensive renovation comprises of two buildings and will have:
- 20 ensuite bedrooms + 4 self contained apartments 🛏
- Large communal areas 🪑
- Private Garden 🌳

The extensive grounds of this property have had years of neglect so we're very excited for its progress.

The property is expected to be ready by end of October 2022.

Property update 🏠 - Gainsborough

Our construction phase is picking up on our latest property in Gainsborough which will be a supported living facility.

This extensive renovation will feature:
- 20 ensuite bedrooms 🛏
- Bespoke communal areas 🪑
- Private garden 🌳
- Fully equipped kitchens for multi-cooking activities 🍽

This property will be ready soon and we're very excited to keep you updated with its progress.

Construction is well under way on our latest property in Chester - a supported living service for residents with a mental health issues.

This modern and bright property will have:
- 20 ensuite bedrooms 🛏
- Large communal areas 🪑
- A courtyard garden 🌳

The property is expected to be ready by September 2022 and we're very excited to keep you updated with the progress for this property and our other upcoming ones.

Property Showcase 🏡 - Workington.

We're pleased to announce our newest project coming soon - a new purpose-built supported living service in Workington.

This property will provide a homely environment for 18 residents with ensuite rooms and ample communal spaces. All rooms have been designed with large windows to provide an abundance of natural light and beautiful garden views.

The building will be a single level and constructed from materials to compliment the vernacular of the area.
