Embracing the New Moon in Pisces - nurturing Wellbeing with our Yoga Practice 🌊🧘‍♀️

As we welcome the embrace of the New Moon in Pisces, we're invited to dive deep into the realm of our emotions, intuition, and spirituality. Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, symbolises endings, transitions, and the fluid life journey. This celestial event urges us to release what no longer serves us and embrace new beginnings with open hearts and minds.

As we connect with the Pisces energy, the ancient wisdom of yoga can serve as a powerful ally in nurturing our overall wellbeing and connecting with the cycles of the moon.

1. **Gentle Movement**: Engaging in gentle, fluid movements/asana that honour the water element can help us release tension and invite a sense of flow and ease into our bodies, mirroring the fluidity of Piscean energy.

🌿 Spring breathes new life into the planet and into our own beings. As the earth awakens from its winter slumber, we, too, feel a renewed sense of energy and vitality. It's a time of growth, transformation, and renewal.

🌱 Ayurveda teaches us that spring is governed by the Kapha dosha, characterized by qualities of earth and water. This season brings a sense of heaviness and congestion, but also an opportunity to detoxify and lighten up. Space (Akasha), the fifth element, is also emphasized during this time, reminding us to create space within ourselves to support this natural process of cleansing and renewal.

💨 Through breath-connected asanas, we can tap into the Ayurvedic benefits of space (Akasha), allowing us to release stagnation, clear out toxins, and create more room for vitality and clarity. By embracing the qualities of space within our practice, we invite a sense of lightness, expansiveness, and freedom into our bodies and minds. Allowing us to connect inwardly, accessing the benefits of the parasympathetic nervous system as we find that stillness of body and mind, being present in the moment.

The ☀️ is shining and I am absorbing the wonderful life and light energy which surrounds us everyday even when it is hidden or clouded and is unable to shine as bright as it is today.
The sun is our life force. The sun supports plants to photosynthesize and produce oxygen for us to breathe. Light has long been a symbol of consciousness and illumination, and the opposition between light and darkness has informed the spiritual world of all peoples across almost every belief system no matter what.
The connection between the sun and the divine appears throughout yoga traditions, and any yogi, ancient or modern, will be familiar with sun salutations, an offering of gratitude to the sun for the life-giving solar energy. Through asanas, one is said to be offering salutation to the divine, represented here by the sun, as a source of light, removing the darkness of a clouded mind.
