And with a wide range of roles from practical activities such as planting through to marketing and social media, even those with less than green fingers can still make a real difference

Date for the Calendar! After the summer break, our conservation working party activities at Overton Hill will recommence on Saturday 21st September, 10am to 12 midday. We meet at Overton Hill Car Park next to the Community Orchard. All volunteers welcome and even if you are new to conservation and just want to get involved, our more experienced members are here to guide you. The summer break has allowed the site to flourish and provide vital habitat for pollinators and other invertebrates as well as birds and small mammals. We can now continue with conservation work through this autumn/winter period that will further enhance this green and thriving space for wildlife. All equipment is supplied, but if you have a pair of protective gloves of your own please bring them with you. Our first session this season will continue the thicket thinning work in the upper meadow of Overton Hill.

It’s an opportunity to get out of the office for the day, connect with nature, and help the Rangers support biodiversity across the borough. They are a small team and manage over 300 hectares of green space for biodiversity, so rely on volunteers to help out.
