Such a wonderful day to celebrate my mums 80th and my dad’s 82nd birthdays.
Service was amazing and the whole family had a wonderful time.
I took along my Selfie station with red carpet backdrop and large TV screen to display images.
Brilliant afternoon with so many friends and family.

It’s very quiet on the mobile DJ front at the moment so I’m so glad to express my musical passion on the radio.

"Chris was absolutely spectacular on our wedding day. It was such a weight off our minds knowing he was there. To call Chris a DJ does not do him justice, he essentially ran our day! From the ceremony music which was perfectly timed to the music he had during canapés and dinner, which was lots of country music. I know it's not to everyone's taste on the dance floor so thank you for getting that in there for me Chris!

He hosted the wedding breakfast, introducing us, the speeches and engaging the guests all the way through. He really did take a massive weight off our mind.

I think for us, what set him apart, aside from his amazing performance on the day, was the enthusiasm. Chris really cares, he really wants to go above and beyond to make your day special for you. There are so many little touches he offers, like quizzes and inflatables (most of which grew legs at our wedding, so thank you for those Chris) that he goes way beyond your average DJ.

Basically, don't hesitate, if he is available for your day, book him! You won't regret it and he'll think of things that you'd never think of, he did for us. His experience is invaluable and like I said, he genuinely wants to do all he can to make your day work.

I would also like to note that just before our wedding he went through a personal bereavement and we had no idea of anything until Facebook after the day. That's how professional he is and also how much he cares about what he does.

This month 22 years ago, I DJ’d my first event for 10 years. I took a break in 1992 and to be honest never ever thought I would DJ again but I was persuaded to get behind the decks again and 22 years later and having many memories, I am looking forward to what could be my quietest year to date.
I’m not sure why bookings are down on previous years, maybe cost of living, cheaper options or maybe not so many people having events, who knows but I love music and am ready and willing to provide my entertainment for your event.

I had a lovely conversation with a lady called Tracey during the week.
Tracey called me after I had been recommended to her by a DJ colleague Alan Granville.
I have to thank Alan for the recommendation.
Tracey was looking for someone who would be able to look after the afternoons wedding planning, co-ordinate and add some fun to keep the guests entertained on her sons wedding day.
This is what I do, I am not some starchy and stuffy dinner suited wedding MC, I am a chilled, relaxed, fun and friendly wedding host who can offer some FUN to your wedding day.
I look forward to hopefully meeting Tracey, her son and future daughter in law soon.

During the Lockdown I was offered the chance to become a Radio presenter for MoreFM Spain.
The station is run by an old friend of mine and I also DJ’d for his daughter’s wedding.
I’m now in my 4th year on the station and love every minute.
My Saturday morning show is a mix of music genres from my own collection.
My Friday night show is all about the party music.

So it’s January and the beginning of a new year!

I head into the year with a very dry January, it does pick up with 3 events in February but so far a very quiet one.
I know my website needs some work, I don’t think it’s been updated for a couple of years but then who really uses websites much?
90% of my work is through Recommendations or venues I worked for in the past, DO I really need to invest time I don’t have a lot of and money into promoting my website?

I am older, wiser and experienced enough to know that the majority of clients that book my services for their event have already seen me work, been to an event where I have DJ’d or maybe heard of me from a friend.

No disrespect to other DJs but I look at the quality not the quantity, I know of several colleagues who work maybe 5 or 6 events a week at hotel chains and for me, that’s not what I want as you become a commodity, just another tick in the box. I want your event to be special for not only YOU but for me, I don’t want to be tired and thinking about the next GIG, it’s you and your event I want to focus on.

I have a big year ahead personally but I would also like for it to be a big year professionally.

As we close the book on 2023, I thought I would look back at the year.
24 Weddings in total during 2023, a big downturn on the previous year although 2022 was the year for catch up from the lockdown.
Parties faired slightly better from previous years with 22 birthdays and other events which considering I did turn a few away wasn’t a bad amount.
I had some amazing times, venues I had not previously visited including Lower Lawn, Tisbury, Bowood House, not once but twice. I DJ’d at Wellington Barn near Chippenham, Aprils Farm, Audleys Wood, Weybrook Golf Club and Syrencote along with The Oak at Smannell plus my regulars of The Clock Barn and Esseborne Manor.
I met some incredible couples had some amazing fun, incredible reviews and partied with guests.
I would like to thank everyone who I met this past year for such great memories and although 2024 looks set to be a very different year, I hope I can create many more great memories, meet more fantastic people and play at more lovely venues along the way.

I hope everyone had a lovely Xmas, for many of you it would have been your first as a married couple and I wish you many many more.
With the season of goodwill turning to celebrating the new year, what has 2024 in store for you.
For some it may be thoughts of getting engaged, getting Married, having a party or maybe a holiday.
Here Chris Burford Entertainment headquarters we will be heading into 2024 with a smile on our faces but also some sadness as my youngest Daughter Amy joins her sister in Australia, we are not sure how long she will be gone for but we will hope that she does return.
My eldest daughter gets married in July so we will be heading out down under in June and then another family wedding takes place in November when my Brother gets Married up in Newmarket and I have been asked to provide my all day hosting and DJ services.
So what has 2024 have in store for you.
We are here for you.

Two hours of great music and a sprinkling of Xmas tracks

So that’s a wrap for 2023 following my impromptu evening at Andover Rugby club. After a year of wonderful weddings, brilliant parties and meeting lots a lovely people I’m done now until Feb 1st when I will be showcasing at the Clock Barn open evening before a wedding on the 2nd February.
Next year I celebrate 22 years since I came back to DJing after a 10 year break and next year will be my final year before I take things a little easier in 2025, welll that’s the plan.
2024 will also see me take a month off to visit my daughter in Australia and give her away at the alter too and I’m so looking forward to that.
So I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

It was Xmas party time and wow, did they have a party.

Tonight I’m back for the Aster party.

We are getting ready for a 3 day feast of DJing.
Thursday night I will be DJing our 2nd Xmas party at the Masonic Hall along with our popular Selfie Photo Booth Station and then Friday we are back at the Masonic hall for Aster Property services.
Saturday night it’s a small local event

Over the past few years I have done less and less Christmas parties. I can remember a time when the van was loaded on the 30th November and the equipment was used every other night before being packed away on the 2nd January, however times have changed, less companies are having big events, Hotels generally have their own suppliers so I am not in as much demand as I once was but I’m happy with that nowadays.
Last night I had the pleasure of Providing my entertainment services for Simply Health, a company that I have provided my services before over the years and what a great night it was too at Wi******er Rugby Club. The Club itself was the perfect venue for load in too and looked very festive.
Jake Ward was asked to warm the guests up with some songs before I kicked off with a couple of Xmas songs. It wasn’t long before the floor was full until the end of the night and the Selfie Station was a big hit too and nearly 200 images taken.
This coming week is a busy one with two more Xmas parties at the Masonic Hall and Friday will be my 3rd successive year of providing my services for Aster property services.
Off to a great start.

Getting ready for the Christmas parties this weekend with some new Photobooth stock.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of providing my DJ and Selfie Photo station for Marks 60th in Wi******er
It was a wonderful evening and guests loved the Selfie Station and TV screen that displayed the images.
It certainly added the fun element to the evening and has been one of the best decisions I have made over the past few months.
Adds value without the added cost.
The evening for me was made even better when an ex DJ and music promoter was so impressed with my DJing that he discussed the possibility of working with him abroad.
Nothing concrete but it did wonders for my credibility and ego too.
Who knows what the future holds.
This weekend I will be doing it all again as I provide my services for the first Xmas party of the year back in Wi******er for Simply Health.
