Partou Arnold Day Nursery and Pre-school
Partou Arnold Day Nursery & Pre-school provides early years care and education for children aged 0-5 years old in Arnold.
At Partou, the children are the leaders.
Te Whariki week, this week has been influenced by New Zealand's curriculum. The children have enjoyed creating and exploring this philosophy. This is one of the philosophies that is embedded in our curriculum and the childrens learning journey at Partou Arnold.
Happy Open Day! Today we have opened the doors of Partou Arnold to welcome new and perspective parents! We are excited to show off the nursery and talk about what it means to be part of the Partou family.
A massive congratulations to Keidi who has successfully completed her Level 2 with Distinction. We are all very proud of you and can not wait to see what you do next!
With Autumn just around the corner the Preschool children have started to discuss the changes that we will see. They talked about have the leaves will change colour and fall from the trees. Including the ones in the nursery garden. They listened to the story Leaf Man and Big Tree and explore Autumn scented playdough.
Maria Montessori. The Montessori way of teaching is one of the philosophies that influences our practice and set ups in the nursery. This week across the nursery we have been explore more about the Montessori method. We created a information display for our parents to be able to read more about what Montessori is and how it's put into nursery practice.
I spy with my little eye......
Introducing the children to a classic game of I spy. Starting with a tray of familiar objects for the children to hunt for and identify. First by name and then by characteristics. Such a great activity to recreate at home and on the go!
Autumn tea, with the colder weather coming in our 2-3s have started to explore Autumn. Using different autumn scents they will be creating their own tea.
Exploring light! The 2-3s have been exploring light using different translucent shapes and blocks. With this marvellous invitation to play focusing on treasures. The children had a wonderful time exploring.
Our blossoming babies room has had its first week open! The younger children have thrived in the space focused more on sensory exploration. They have explored paint, frozen characters, and the new sensory egg. We can’t wait to see all the memories, wow moments and milestones they achieve.
The preschoolers have been busy creating their very own natural resources pictures!
First of all they went on a hunt in the garden looking for different things to be able to stick on their paper. They came back with sticks, leavers and grass.
Ahoy Partou, We have a fantastic new addition to our garden. The children have their very own boat to explore, create memories, make friends and use their imagination. Special thank you to two of our team members today who built it ready for this afternoon. The children were so excited to get outside and play.
A sneak peak at our newly refurbished baby room.
Partou Arnold's leavers party! Today we celebrate all the children who are leaving the nursery for their next big adventure. We celebrated by having an afternoon tea party. The children could have glitter tattoos, decorate a bookmark and create a Partou medal. We will miss them all and wish them all the best for the future.
Bump into books! The baby room have really embraced our company ethos and included books around the room. Here are some invitations to play themed around interests and books. We have a Duck themed set up encouraging nature exploration, literacy skills, communication and expressive art. The jungle invitation encourages new language, animal sounds, sensory play and literacy.
International day of friendship! Today in our preschool room we celebrated all things related to friendship. We had invitations to play set up and carried out activities linked to working as a group and communication with others. Friendship is an important part of early education and at Partou Arnold we promote acceptance for all, friendship, tolerance and individuality.
We are thrilled to announce that our brand new decking space is open and ready to use! The children have had a wonderful time outside this afternoon playing and relaxing in the sunshine.
Our garden den has had a little revamp. We took inspiration from different sources to create a space full of positivity and calm. We wanted to create somewhere the children could go to recharge, relax, reflect and socialise. We hope you agree this space now does all 4.
In our 2-3’s room the children have been busy exploring facial features.
Using playdough and cut outs the children created their own faces, naming the different features as they used them.
Today the children have had a great time exploring everything Dinosaur themed! The children engaged in science experiments, craft activities, role play and many more. It was a roaring success!
We hope that all the parents enjoyed having a special treat yesterday for Father's Day.
Partou Party Day!
We have all had the best day celebrating joining the Partou family.
The children had access to Netherlands themed activities and cultural items.
We explored tradition clogs, windmills, we tasted Stroopwafels and listened to some traditional music, to name a few.
The celebrations went on all day including a little Partou treat for the parents.
Making our own Sandwich! The children in the toddler room have had a great time practicing some life skills today. They each got to make their own Sandwich. Choosing between 3 different fillings, spreading the butter on and cutting to size. They then sat back and enjoyed their hard yummy work.
The babies have had a particular interest in construction and vehicles and we wanted to extend on this. we created playdough construction site to explore this further and use their interests for their next steps.
Following on from national bee day, 2-3's are going to have a go at planting some flowers.
We hope this activity is going to promote our understanding of the world around us, enabling staff to introduce new words and talk about how to care for living things in a simple concept.
We also hope to plant some of our lovely flowers into our wild flower garden that surround our wonderful sensory tree.
World Bee Day!
Today, we crafted our own bees using mud and tissue paper. The pre-schoolers and two-to-three-year-olds gathered mud to form a circle on a tray, then adorned it with yellow tissue paper stripes to mimic the colours of a bee.
