Sometimes during the planning process, it becomes clear that an extension won’t offer everything the client needs and it will be more cost-effective to undertake a new build 🔨⁠

That is what happened with this gorgeous four-bedroom detached house in Marlow.⁠
⁠
We previously tried to re-work an existing design to the house, before concluding that a new build would be the best option.⁠
⁠
That enabled us to create this stunning family home, full of natural light and open communal spaces, as well as private office space and balcony at the back of the house. ⁠

Great to see this a job built and finished, the original concept was for a big wrap around extension on side and rear. Due to the condition of existing dwelling, the house was completely demolished and rebuilt as new build. The cost for extending the house was a similar price but with the benefit of saving VAT on a new build the overall price as cheaper. This resulted in the customer being very happy.

This self build in Arborfield took over a year to win the planning permission battle with the Local Authority.

We certainly think the wait was worth it for the end result however! 😍

Reality Vs CGI 🤩

Introducing : Wilson Road...

We do a vast amount of development projects, a large amount of which are sold on after the planning gain. So it's always lovely to see one of our design projects completed and built out in Reading Town Centre.

Wilson Road started out as an empty plot of land, used as car parking, walking distance from Reading Town Centre.

The design for these 3 units was completely guided by the local surroundings, but enhanced by stone finishes.

Introducing Cabrera

Our client purchased their property in an aspirational location, but unfortunately the property in its current form, didn't fit their day to day needs.

At DWS, we don't think you should have to sacrifice functionality and kerb appeal for location and we love to help our clients achieve both!

We had to seek approval from not only the local authority but also the Wentworth Estate and have achieved successful planning permission for a stunning double storey front and side extension, take a look at these before and after images, we think the pictures speak for themselves.
