Are you up for ‘The Big Biddenden Autumn Clean Up’ on Saturday 21st September? ♻️

The Bakehouse Cafè & Biddenden Family Chiropractic Clinic have teamed up again to organise a grand tidy up of our beautiful village.

This is a really fun event for children. It’s a valuable lesson for them to learn how important it is to keep our wildlife safe and our countryside free from litter. They will be rewarded with one of our super hot chocolates at the end. 🍫

Our plan of action…..

Meet at The Bakehouse from 1.30pm to collect your hi vis jackets, litter pickers & black sacks kindly supplied by Ashford Borough Council.

We will hand you a map with your route that we have planned for you. (If you would like a particular route please let us know)
Bring along a pencil ✏️ so you can mark on your map where you have safely left full rubbish sacks.

When you have finished your area, head back to The Bakehouse to hand back your litter pickers, etc…. & enjoy a lovely well earned cup of tea, coffee and of course the kids treat. ☕️

We will then head out with our van to collect all the rubbish bags to pile up for the council to collect.🗑️

🇹🇭 Thai Yoga Massage 🙌

We are excited to announce that we have a new and exciting treatment available - Thai Yoga Massage.
This offers a two-hour relaxing and therapeutic treatment, practised by our massage therapist, Rebecca Wissman.

As a team, we have all enjoyed being part of Rebecca's training journey, particularly when we got to experience the treatment firsthand as part of her case studies. Each of us loved our experience and would highly recommend it!!

Traditional Thai Yoga massage (TYM) is an ancient healing art that's been practised in Asia since the third century BC. It's a treatment that combines massage with gentle stretching and is carried out on a large futon mat on the floor. Thai Yoga massage is based on the concept of using an energy line system called the Ten Sen that runs through the body, which many are familiar with as meridians. Blockages along these energy lines can cause aches, pains, and disease when neglected for too long.

Thai Yoga Massage has its origin from India and is strongly linked to Buddhism as TYM is always practised in a meditative way. It is said to be "the physical application of loving kindness."

This holistic, slow-paced treatment focuses on the whole, realigning body, breath and mind. The individual will receive treatment in multiple positions such as lying face up, face down, on their side, and sitting up. When possible, treatment will include stretching and moving of joints, twists for shoulders, spine, and hips. The abdominal massage helps aid digestion, and a relaxing feet and hand massage together with a soothing facial massage allows the body to sink into the mat and fully integrate this rebalancing experience.

WHO IS THAI YOGA MASSAGE FOR?
Contrary to popular preconceptions about this treatment and yoga, TYM does not require the receiver to be flexible, athletic, or strong. Each treatment is tailored to meet the needs of each individual. As the basic principle is to balance the energetic body with palming and thumbing techniques, this treatment can be beneficial to everyone, young, old, healthy, or unwell.

Meeting this Sunday (21st) from 09:55 in front of on the High Street to leave prompt at 10:00.

The route is 3 miles long and 95% through the fields on footpaths. I've checked the terrain and it's dry enough. Buggies work, but might need to lift over a gate here and there.

Today, a high-level athlete presented with a severe lateral ankle sprain. X-rays fortunately ruled out fibular fracture, which isn't uncommon with these sprains.

We have a clear deadline to make. Hyrox Malaga 🇪🇸 in 8 weeks.

Initial treatment will focus on accelerating the healing, reducing pain, swelling and excessive inflammation.

We are using photobiomodulation (laser) therapy, taping and dry needling first.

Later on, mobilisation, manipulation and strengthening will be added.

🎂 Jaxon turned 4 on Saturday and had a fantastic time at Harry Potter Warner Bros Studios. Strongly recommend a visit. So impressive!

🏃‍♂️ On Sunday, Tom ran Headcorn half marathon and smashed his personal best by 66secs. Finishing 10th in 1:25:45.
