Swift Justice Delivered within 12 Hours
Excellent Multi-Agency Coordination
During a routine shift, a DS observed a male and female engaged in a heated argument on the lower end of the High Street. Recognizing the potential risk, the DS immediately informed the Response Team and radioed the AMC (CCTV) for monitoring. The couple moved to Station Road, where the situation quickly escalated. The male violently assaulted the female, pinning her against a wall, throwing her to the ground, and attempting to strangle her.
Reacting instantly, the DS called for backup from the Response Team and instructed AMC that MM Security was going to assist the vulnerable female. While the Response Team apprehended the male, the female was quickly escorted away from the scene by a female DS, who provided reassurance and protection.
KP arrived promptly, and the male was arrested for attempted strangulation and assault. Thanks to the swift action and coordination of all involved, the suspect was charged and brought before the magistrates' court the following morning. The male pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody pending sentencing in the coming weeks.
This result is a testament to the vigilance and dedication of everyone involved. A special acknowledgment goes to AMC for their prompt response to DS's alert, ensuring the incident was captured on CCTV, which played a crucial role in securing a guilty plea. Kudos to KP for gathering the necessary evidence in a short time to present to the court, and to the DS for providing continuous support to the female victim during this traumatic event.
MM Security remains committed to protecting women and girls in Ashford's nighttime economy and will not tolerate such assaults.
Well done, team.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to one of our DS officers for his following actions:
While off duty and on the way home, a DS noticed an incident near one of our venues, where Town Charlie was dealing with a male who appeared aggressive. After exiting his car, the DS was approached by two agitated males from a nearby group who claimed that the individual had exposed himself.
The DS calmly engaged with the male, who immediately deescalated. The DS then walked him away from the group so to protect everybody from harm. Shortly thereafter, the police arrived and promptly arrested the individual for indecent exposure. The DS returned to the venue to inform the staff that the male had been arrested and that everything was under control.
Upon returning to the car, a female police officer requested the DS's assistance in restraining the male while her colleague conducted a search. The officer asked to use the DS's handcuffs to double cuff the male. The DS provided the handcuffs, holding the male's arms while the officer applied them.
The male was then conveyed to custody.
Thank you to this DS (and he knows who he is) for his outstanding efforts, especially while off duty. We greatly appreciate his unwavering commitment to the role of a DS security officer

I’ve just like to do a shout out and a thank you to a couple of DS members that were involved in an altercation at one of our venues over the weekend.
The altercation involved up to six people that wanted to fight each other outside the venue when one group left and encountered another group… There were only 2 x DS working on that venue when it started but nevertheless tried their best to jump in and protect a male that was clearly being kicked and punched on the floor. Our DS, without hesitation, went to the aid of that person to protect him and the general members of the public against the attack.
In this attack both DS sustained injuries to their face and ribs and one later on Sunday went to hospital to be treated, just because they wanted to protect the young man from getting more severe injuries. The DS remained neutral and without bias regardless of who started it and who was right or wrong, demonstrating dedication for public safety.
All One group wanted to do is go out and have an enjoyable evening and they should be able to do this without fear of being assaulted. People need to respect that our security team will respond to these threats. Anyone that wishes to conduct themselves in this way and inflict such harm on others just trying to have an enjoyable night out will be detained and further arrested by the police and dealt with through the courts.
2 x males were detained by our response teams and arrested by Kent Police for assault. They were taken into custody where they now have to face the consequences of their actions..
Thank you team, and well done.
Security is in the title….

Last weekend our Response Vehicle heard transmissions from CCTV trying to get hold of a security team at a different venue. CCTV could not raise the Security team so MM response team told the operator that we would attend the venue to see if we could help in anyway. We arrived at the venue and we were told that a male had indecently exposed himself, caused criminal damage to the venue and assaulted a Door Staff by punching him in the face, but had fled the scene, MM Response team then scoured the area along with 2 x Kent Police units, after approximately 20 minutes MM Response team saw the male through a window of a different venue in bank Street,, the Response team radioed through to CCTV so they could update KP on the location of this Male, and attend the scene. Response team stayed at the location until KP arrived.
The Male was arrested for indecent exposure and assault on a DS..
Another great teamwork involving CCTV operators, Kent Police and MM Security response vehicle..
Later a Kent Police Sargent expressed his gratitude towards our team… and everybody involved ,
Well done team.. it doesn’t matter whether you work for the same security company or not we should not be assaulted whilst offering a public service…
Great job

In the later part of the month in January 2024 an MM Security officer was helping Kent Police to deal with a violent situation in which the male that was detained was scared and confused, The security officer went above and beyond to keep the male calm and reassure him of everything that was happening. This in turn prevented any injuries to Police, Security or the Public and to the detained, frightened male himself.
A Licensing officer from Kent Police @ the Strategic Partnership Command East Division contacted MM Security to express gratitude to the Security officer involved after he had viewed his exceptional skills dealing with this male on the Police BWC footage.
Well done Taylor excellent job.

Hi Guys
I’ve been asked to pass on thanks from the licensing officer from Kent Police @ the Strategic Partnership Command East Division…
As well as a Licensing Officer @ Ashford Borough Council
“ Kent Police said “
We have discuss many incidents where your door staff have acted proactively and provided assistance not only to the public but to Kent Police. One of note was the reporting of two intoxicated males who were refused entry in September. They were then seen driving off in a vehicle. By using the APAC radios your staff notified Ashford Monitoring (CCTV) and Police were able to attend. Following a pursuit and after various items were discarded from the vehicle, the driver was arrested. He was subsequently charged with numerous offences. It would be worth putting this on the APAC site if you haven’t already done so.
I have approached our Media team to highlight this great work, as well as informing senior ranks. Its shows that partnership working and proactive door staff can lead to positive action being taken. I want to thank you and your staff for their diligence. They should be congratulated. Their action may have prevented significant harm from persons unfit to drive. Well done and thank you.
I will also pass thanks onto AMC for their prompt action on this.
When the system works it works!
A Licensing Officer, @ Ashford Borough Council said.
“A huge kudos to you and your team for alerting the monitoring centre to an alleged drug/drunk driver in September.
That kind of action deserves an award.. I cannot applaud your team enough as far as I am concerned…
Again, well done to everyone involved, especially “Bubba” which updated AMC which eventually lead to this great result…
Also another Big shoutout to AMC for their quick response and radio coms with our security team …. 📢📢📢

Hi Guys, just to let you know we have had a mention in the Kent Police CSU monthly newsletter, with regards to a vehicle driving erratically in the lower end of the High Street.
On the 12th of August @ 23:43 the Vehicle was reported by myself to AMC for antisocial behaviour, extremely loud music coming from the vehicle and driving erratically in the lower end of the High Street… Unfortunately, Police were extremely busy with other important calls, and were unable to attend.
On the 19th of August, the vehicle was seen again and radioed through to AMC. The vehicle was again reported for bad driving and AMC were notified that it was the same vehicle reported to them the week of the 12th… This time police attended and dealt with the driver…
Kent Police wrote in the October’s issue of the CSU news letter…
“One issue that we've tackled is nuisance driving through the town centre. With an influx of visitors during the summer months, we understand the importance of a peaceful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. In collaboration with licensed door staff and CCTV operatives, a vehicle was identified to be driving anti-socially in the town centre during hours popular with the night time economy. We're pleased to report that this was seized and the driver issued with traffic offence reports for several offences.”
Again, well done with regards reporting and updating AMC so they can update and guide Kent Police to the vehicles location. Antisocial behaviour that led to other related driving offences and a seized vehicle off the road…
Great work, Nick & and of course a big thank you and shout out to AMC..
Mark ( Boss Man ) Mitchell
Another big thank you, this time, from a couple that was out on Saturday night. When a 64 year old lady was walking home with her husband, when she tripped over the curb at the top of East Hill and hit her head on the road, Causing a considerably large open wound and very large swelling to the forehead.
First-aid was immediately given and the Security team called an ambulance, But No ETA could not be given on the ambulance attending , so the decision was made to take the husband and wife to A+E department at the William Harvey Hospital in the response vehicle
AMC were kept up-to-date with radio comms and SECAM was cancelled when the IP was safely in the vehicle …
The couple are extremely grateful for the response of the security team and the care that was given.
Well done Jo, Nick , Mark & to Bradley for covering the front door of the AC whilst they were attending to the IP.
Yet again Great teamwork ….
Thank you

Well just to start, a bit of background…… I have been working in the industry for over 27 years, I was working before SIA licenses began, but my first license was a Westminster License and was issued in 1995. In a recent CSU meeting, Inspector Johnson from Kent Police has mentioned a great team effort from the security team at the Durbar upper High Street on the 2-7-2023 at approximately 00:40 when a large group of males were fighting in the street adjacent to the venue and Door Staff were outnumbered, Door Staff decided to deploy smart tag canister and warned the group of males If they did not disperse, then they would get sprayed. The large group, then decided to disperse and go their separate ways.
Well done Matt, Bubba and Mark yet another great response from the team, good work…

Ashford police have asked me to pass on their thanks for assisting them in a arrest after a machete was seized from a member of public in the lower High Street, 0n the 14-7-2023
Both Luke and Taylor, kept AMC up-to-date with location of the male. Police attended the scene, and the male was immediately located and arrested. The machete was secured by Taylor, and later handed back to the Police Sargent, where an arrest was made for having a bladed article in public…
Great radio communication between Security team and AMC, Well done both of you ….

Just general chatting, but during the conversation mentioned appreciation to the two security officers that the previous week had assisted their colleagues with an incident in the upper high street.
They continued to say that it is also appreciated that our door staff leave there positions when safe to do so to assist the police where they can…
Well done Jo & Bubba

Divisional Commander's Certificate of Merit from
KENT POLICE
I have been nagged for months now, asking whether I’m going to post this out there for all to see, mostly by a few friends and close work colleagues…
So I have given in. People that know me, know I don’t post personal stuff, and that’s probably why I haven’t posted this before. But it’s been proudly displayed on the wall for just under a year, So here you go …..
Divisional Commander's Certificate of Merit
Awarded to Mr Mark Mitchell
This Divisional Commander's Certificate of Merit is awarded to Mr Mark Mitchell, Director of The Ashford Club for his commitment to protecting women and girls from violence in the Ashford night-time economy.
In July 2021, a serious sexual offence occurred near to the Lower High Street in Ashford. Officers attended The Ashford Club to conduct extensive CCTV enquiries.
Despite the offence not being connected to the operation of the business, Mr Mitchell spent several hours ensuring CCTV evidence was secured for investigators. The following weekend Police again attended The Ashford Club to make further enquires. Whilst at the location the following weekend, Officers were notified by Mr Mitchell that the suspect was present in the venue. Mr Mitchell assisted the Officers with the arrest by detaining the suspect. The suspect was subsequently convicted of three counts of r**e and received a 10 year sentence at a Young Offender's Institution.
In September 2021, Mr Mitchell was alerted to a male customer who was approaching customers and staff members stating he was a Police Officer by producing a warrant card. A female customer reported that he had attempted to buy her a drink, which she declined; citing that he was a stranger to which he replied that he could be trusted as he was a Police Officer.
Mr Mitchell challenged the male about his conduct and purported position and then required him to leave the premises which was recorded on Body Worn Video following which Mr Mitchell reported the incident to PC Alistair Pringle, Ashford Licensing Officer. The footage was key evidence in the identification of the male with further enquiries establishing he was a serving Prison Officer.
This case highlights the awareness and commitment to protecting women and girls in Ashford. The strong relationships between licensees, Police and the Prison Service has led to the identification and conviction of a person taking advantage of their position of trust who exhibited predatory behaviour towards lone females at a time when confidence in those holding a position of trust has been significantly undermined.
Mr Mark Mitchell is to be commended for his actions in protecting women and girls from harm - something at the very center of the Kent Police Control
Strategy.
Chief Superintendent Simon Thompson
Divisional Commander East Division

Back in May 2022 MM Security Team supported an investigation with Kent Police to try and bring this thug to justice. Unfortunately it was unsuccessful but recently published in the Kent online. He is finally behind bars,
“KENT ONLINE”
A thug broke his sister’s eye socket while repeatedly punching her in the face after she threatened to sell his fishing rods.
Tyrone Davies, from Ashford, punched her with such force she fell backwards into a chair, then continued to rain down blows on her. "Tyrone Davies, from Ashford, has been jailed for attacking his sister after she threatened to sell his fishing rods"
Tyrone Davies, from Ashford, has been jailed for attacking his sister after she threatened to sell his fishing rods
Terrified Haley Davies described feeling as if “her face caved in” during the assault, and how she has since moved away because her “life has been shattered”.
The 44-year-old was jailed for a year-and-a-half at Canterbury Crown Court, where details of the harrowing ordeal were set out.
I received an email, the other day from Kent Police and was asked to pass on this message to the security officers involved …. it goes as follows:
Can I just add appreciation for staff at Ashford club. We attended a fight high street, male waving belt around and others also around shouting – Door Staff from Ashford Club asked if we need a hand and came up with us as there was only 2 of us, they assisted in the arrested. This was much appreciated..
Well done to Jo & Flecher great work ….
