🎃🎃🎃All Hallow's Eve originates from the Celtic festival of Samhain which marks the end of summer and harvest season and the move into winter. For this month's monthly Yin practice we'll celebrate the move into the winter months with a slow and grounding practice.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a soft practice, drawn from Taoist yoga. Meditative postures are held for 2-5 minutes to a comfortable edge. It stimulates the connective tissue, helping to lengthen, strengthen and increase the mobility of these tissues.
It is a practice which helps you to slow down, observe and build a deeper awareness of your body and thoughts.

All levels welcome. Book using your regular yoga passes.

It’s got pretty cold fast this year, particularly in the evenings. So I’m moving yoga back to Cairngorm School of Dance until we move into the new space.

I am sorry to say that Yoga on the Beach will not go ahead tomorrow. The weather forecast is for lots of rain and to be very cool too so isn't great for doing yoga and enjoying the experience.

Join me for a joyful evening of heart opening cacao and slow yin yoga.

A Cacao Ceremony is a celebratory ritual originating from Latin America. The cacao beans are the fruit of the cacao tree and chocolate in its purest form which are naturally bitter tasting. The cacao is prepared as a hot drink to sip and blessed with intentions for the future.

Sipping the cacao encourages the blood flow to the heart which helps you feel energised and clarity. The ceremony enhances our yoga practice to help us practice with an open heart, look to the future and let go of that which no longer serves us.

I am joining forces with Emma of Holistic Soul Speyside again to bring you a morning or Yin Yoga & Sound Meditation.

Beginning with a Yin Yoga practice led by Izzy, we will soften the mind and body with long held postures to stimulate the connective tissue. Then Emma will lead us through an hour long sound healing using Crystal Singing Bowls.

“Sound Healing using Crystal Singing Bowls is a really powerful way to rebalance the mind, body and soul. Working on a cellular level, there is nothing you need to do during a Sound Bath other than lie down, get comfy and keep cosy. The bowls cocoon your body in vibration, working to release stress, tension, worries and bring a positive energy into your life, leaving behind any negative thoughts and emotions.” - Emma

It will be a joyous and meditative experience which will help us find clarity, balance and peace.

Emma has been a qualified Sound Therapist since 2018, previously living and working on the Isle of Lewis. She moved to Speyside just over a year ago and has been blessed to restart her classes again, along with Retreat Days and beach events.

This week is a special yoga class to celebrate the summer solstice ☀️✨

It will be an uplifting and reflective practice that celebrates the life-giving power of the Sun on the day which it shines the longest.

We’ll begin our practice with our sun salutations before slowing down to a meditative practice with longer held postures as we look towards the light that is within all of us.

What is Yin Yang Yoga? ☯️

Yang is the heat, it’s the gentle flow we begin the class with to build heat through the body. Much like your typical vinyasa class.

Yin is soft, drawn from Taoist yoga, we hold long meditative postures to a comfortable edge to stimulate the connective tissue, helping to lengthen, strengthen and increase the mobility of these tissues.

It is a practice which helps you to slow down, observe and build a deeper awareness of your body and thoughts. Combined Yang and Yin create a powerful, mindful practice that helps you to slow down and recharge.
