π³οΈ On General Election Day, Ashfold held its very own Mock Election! Form 6 students were randomly selected to represent the 7 parties standing in the Mid-Buckinghamshire constituency:
- Climate Party
- Conservative and Unionist Party
- Green Party
- Labour Party
- Liberal Democrats
- Reform UK
- Social Democratic Party
Form 6 prepared speeches, answered questions, and campaigned passionately for their party policies, showcasing their public speaking and persuasive skills. Their task was to represent their party's policies and pledges to the best of their ability, regardless of personal beliefs.
A total of 186 votes were cast anonymously by the children in Forms 1-5 and the teachers. Mr. MacIntosh, our Returning Officer, announced the Liberal Democrats as the winning party, with Harry T securing the seat of Ashfold by receiving 73 votes. It has truly been a wonderful day that has 'made a difference' to everyone, strengthening our sense of belonging within our special school community!
The much-anticipated Prep School Sports Day took place on Friday, with excitement radiating from children, staff, and parents alike. Throughout the afternoon, our young athletes showed superb athleticism, sportsmanship, and team spirit across the variety of events.

Last night, the school hall was transformed into the magical land of Oz as Forms 4 and 5 presented their enchanting production of "The Wizard of Oz." The characters were brought to life with incredible enthusiasm. Dorothy, portrayed by three talented actresses, captivated us with their charming performances and beautiful singing voices, especially in their rendition of "Toto." The Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion delivered heart-warming performances, blending physical comedy with poignant moments, each adding their unique flair to these beloved roles.
Among the many memorable moments was the Wicked Witch's convincing menace and her powerful delivery of "Wicked." The performance concluded on a high note with the whole cast coming together to sing the wonderful "There's No Place Like Home."
"The Wizard of Oz" was truly a triumph for Forms 4 and 5, not only entertaining but also inspiring, reminding us all of the power of friendship, courage, and home. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this performance a magical success!

Form 6 enthusiastically presented their IPQ projects to parents and Form 4 pupils. Everyone was captivated by the diverse range of stands and enjoyed listening to Form 6 explain their projects in detail.
This year's projects covered an impressive range of subjects, from fashion to Frank Lloyd Wright and bread to propaganda. Alex's display on the British Army drew significant interest, as did Kamila's intriguing psychology tests.
India's stand attracted visitors with a display that included a humongous skirt worn by female cricketers, while Ben's project challenged preconceptions about gender-based toys and sporting equipment, providing thought-provoking insights for Form 4 pupils.
The evening was a huge success, showcasing the hard work and creativity of Form 6! ππ
π¬ Today, our Form 3 students had an exciting hands-on science lesson!
Given access to matches and candles in the lab (under careful supervision, of course!), they explored the fascinating world of combustion and chemical reactions. Working in pairs, they timed how long it took for candle flames to be extinguished inside jars of different sizes, recording their data with precision. π―οΈπ
The budding scientists then transformed their findings into detailed line graphs. What a fantastic way to learn about reactions and the scientific method!
Great job, Form 3! ππ
