Join us for a spectacular evening at this year's Proms in the Park as Aylesbury Concert Band teams up with the talented Next Stage Choir to bring you a magical night of West End hits on Sunday 25 August! 🎭✨ Plus traditional Proms anthems with our incredible professional soloists!

🇬🇧 Bring your Union Jack flags, rugs, picnics, friends and family to enjoy the mix of traditional and contemporary arrangements. The evening, and entire Parklife Weekend 2024, will culminate in a spectacular firework display. 🇬🇧

You are invited to arrive with picnics from 6:30pm, concert starts at 7:15pm with fireworks at 9:30pm.

There will be food and drink options available on site with stalls from Gyro World, ELAS SNACKS FOOD VAN, S&S Kitchen, Posh Shakes, Miya and The Terrace.

You are very welcome to bring your own picnics and drinks.

Looks like we might be getting a new neighbour soon.

Studies have found that looking at family photos can enhance memory and recall abilities.

Pictures are a great way to look back at moments in time :D

This Edwardian view of the High Street shows echoes of its former residential status. Many of the buildings still had their front gardens with neat brick walls and iron railings. On the right is a sign for building firm Ward & Cannon whose yard was there. The Pavilion cinema was later built on that site. It became the Granada in 1947 and is now facing demolition by Bucks Council. On the opposite side of the street on the far left is Ethel Smith’s millinery (hats) shop. The double bayed Victorian house next to there was private and the house set back a bit and partially obscured by a tree was the home of James Bradford the ironmonger. His shop and two large warehouses were in Kingsbury. When those buildings were demolished and replaced with Brooke House he converted his house into business premises.

Maybe.. according to research from the University of Michigan families who display portraits are better at resolving conflicts. Apparently the constant visual reminder of family unity encouraging members to work through disagreements more amicably.

Just one week to go until Stoke Mandeville's D-Day celebrations. There is plenty of entertainment starting at 3:30 pm through to the lamp lighting ceremony on the village green at 9 pm.

A study from Tulane University revealed that children who are frequently exposed to their own photos exhibit higher self-esteem compared to those without family portraits. This highlights the importance of visual reminders of family bonds in fostering a child’s confidence.
