What a day! And the sun came out too!😀

THANK YOU to all the helpers involved for the hours of organisation, setting up and taking down, selling on stalls, and offers of help during the day.
THANK YOU to all the team captains for coordinating the players. Without you this event would come to nothing! We really appreciate your willingness to be involved.
THANK YOU to all the players who made it such a family friendly event. Fun for young and old with some excellent fielding and batting witnessed throughout the day.
THANK YOU to all the umpires who kept the peace, and scored fairly.
THANK YOU to the bakers who kept our tummies filled.
AND THANK YOU teddy tombola girls for running such a popular stall this morning. We've successfully won back the teddies donated so our girls are very happy ;).

Photos will follow in due course. But right now I'm off for a large glass of wine 🍷

Until 2018/19....! ❤️⚾️❤️

Final scores from yesterday (they were all very close!):
Joint 1st: Chilton - Sew on Target (and happy birthday Jenny!) and Rowant Rebels with 38 points
3rd: Ashendon with 37 points
4th: Dorton Dragons with 36.5 points
5th: Marsh Smashers with 36 points
6th: Legit Ladies of Ludgershall with 35.5 points
7th: The Ring Leaders with 32.5 points
8th: Lond Crendon with 28.5 points
9th: Winchendon Warriors with 26.5 points
10th: Brill with 21 points

Under 16's - who were very inspiring players to watch
1st: Nether Winchendon with 25.5 points
2nd: Dorton with 23.5 points
3rd: Ashendon with 20 points
4th" Brill with 11.5 points (and possibly the youngest team there so a fantastic result!)

Interesting to note, the high scorers were often those with lots of half rounders rather than full rounders... Worth thinking about for next years tactics. :-)

Wow! What a day. The weather was kind and all the teams played brilliantly. But the best bit was seeing all our local villages coming together to enjoy a family day out.

We're so proud of what we achieved by everyone pulling together, helping out on the run up to the event, setting up, and helping on the day, attending with huge enthusiasm, buying raffle tickets, baking cakes (so many cakes! How did they all get eaten?!), crafting the winning prizes (which look so beautiful), plus donating raffle prizes, fields for parking, hay bales, water slides, artwork, photography, craft boxes and of course plenty of time, energy and enthusiasm, not to mention the lovely food put on by The Hundred of Ashendon, which was a huge hit with young and old.

In particular, huge thanks to the Red Lion Social Club for letting us run with this idea and contributing so much to help make this a great day. Without them there would have been no children's toys, soft play, craft boxes, Marsh Gibbon Silver Band or all the free teas, coffees and squash. It was a generous gift to all of us and very much appreciated by all.

Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to a fantastic community event. Fingers crossed we repeat it all again next year. :-)

P.S. please send us your feedback if you have things you'd like to see more/less of or generally have suggestions on the day. It's good to learn how to improve for next year...

13/06/2015

If you have paid for food tickets and/or craft boxes, please come to the white gazebo in front of the pavillion building, in between the 2 pitches... You can collect everything from there.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the morning! :-)
Oh and just to let you know, that as much as we love dogs, we are unable to accommodate them at the playing fields tomorrow. We hope that doesn't cause any problems for you.

12/06/2015

Parking - there is a field adjacent to the playing fields where everyone can park. Signs will be around the village showing you the way... It is on the right as you head out of the village on the Wotton rd towards Dorton/Wotton/Brill.
Disabled parking is reserved in the car park beside the playing fields.
Weather - unless it is torrential rain, we will carry on regardless. 😀

10/06/2015

Aresson have very kindly donated a fantastic amount of rounders kit for the big day! Our favourite item is the pink bat and matching ball. We hope you'll enjoy using it all on Sunday!
Huge thanks to them for their generosity!

10/06/2015

Calling everyone...! We desperately need some help setting up on Saturday morning from 9am at Ashendon playing fields. If you can spare only 30 mins, we'd still be really grateful. 😀

Timeline photos 08/06/2015

For all the team players, here is the running order of the day. Full instructions have been sent to your team captains today to pass on to you. Please ensure you are ready to play and at the right pitch 5 minutes beforehand as timings are tight...
