Ah that weird bit in between Christmas and new year…for us it’s been a mixture of seeing our loved ones, rotten head colds, circumnavigating the M25, hyperactive happy children, food, wine and enough cheese to sink a ship!
It’s chucking with rain today so here’s a photo of some of our lush tents in the sunshine to brighten things up a bit! ☀️

We often get asked what we do in the winter and amongst getting some much needed R&R, being more effective parents and smashing the gym to keep strong - we volunteer for various charities across Kent.

I don’t talk about our volunteering activities on Instagram, because it can come across like a brag. However I’m talking about it today because I’m asking for help - although I have to say we’re very proud and fortunate to be able to support charities close to our hearts

For the last 2 winters I have worked a couple of days a week The need for food donations is climbing rapidly. Across Kent and Medway the demand for food banks is nearly double compared to the national average. And the demand locally is expected to rise by more than 20% over the next year. That’s pretty significant!

Between 29 November and 1st December and are working in partnership on a national food drive.
Grab one of those shopping lists we’ll be waving at you as you walk into Tesco and if you can, spend a few quid on some of our most needed items.

If you want to support your local Foodbank further, you can download the ‘bank the food app’ which will remind you when you go to the supermarket and it will tell you in real time the items that are actually in demand 💙

Did you know….All our tent ground sheets are zipped in, which means you can zip them out too! And with a bit of clever peggery (is that a word?) you can create this work of tenty art 💙

And secondly, when I say our people, I mean our amazing team too. The people who start work in the early hours, the people who stay late to get the job done, the people who put one foot in front of the other when their bodies are aching and the rain just will not stop! It’s those ones that shift their lives around for 6 months of the year to make room for our crazy world of bell tents, you know who you are and we bloody love you all 💙
