Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous. If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a cool area and offered plenty of water to drink.

Are you looking to travel abroad with your pet this summer? If you are, you will be required to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for them. An AHC needs to be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV). Check with your veterinary practice to see if they have a qualified OV because not every practice will have one.

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby’s cry. Their burgundy coats also act as a visual reminder to the public when they are out and about that their partner is deaf.
Donations raised through Pennies when you pay by card help support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Just a small donation can make a big difference!
Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be harmful. We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling unwell. Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with veterinary treatment, is often fatal.

There is no denying the fact that dogs can help to alleviate stress in the workplace. In fact, a survey conducted by The Kennel Club revealed that 70% of people think dogs reduce stress within a working environment, and even stroking a dog is said to reduce blood pressure.
Is your four-legged friend taking a trip to your workplace today?
We are pleased to say that the issue has now been rectified and we are back to being fully contactable! 😊
Good afternoon,
We have been informed that our phones are currently not working correctly.
Please do bear with us and if you require urgent attention, we will be monitoring our emails regularly.

To travel with your pet to an EU country or Northern Ireland, there are some requirements your pet will need before you travel. We would recommend that you start the process at least four months before your journey.

Good Morning, while completing the move to our new computer system, we unfortunately do not have access to the practice email [email protected], so any emails sent or submissions through the website will have a delayed response. Today marks National Receptionist Day!!, and we are celebrating our reception super stars in practice! A huge thank you for everything they do, day in and day out.
The month of May is officially National Smile Month, which we consider to be the perfect time to share joy and positivity and show off those pearly whites. Keeping teeth in tip-top condition is not just important for humans, but for pets too, and that’s why our trained vets and nurses offer full dental checks at our practices. We recommend pets have regular dental check ups to prevent diseases that can otherwise be difficult to detect at home.

🙀What are the difficulties with bringing a cat to the vets?🙀
The International Society for Feline Medicine (ISFM) is the veterinary division of International Cat Care (www.icatcare.org), a charity dedicated to improving the health and welfare of cats worldwide.
We understand that there are unique difficulties in bringing a cat to a veterinary clinic:
• Cats often do not travel well and feel unsafe away from their home
• They are highly sensitive to new sights, sounds and smells
• Most cats prefer quiet and solitude and are highly susceptible to stress
• Most cats are highly stressed by nearby dogs in a vet clinic
• Cats need to be handled gently and with respect in the clinic.
For further advice, give us a call on 01263 732130
Good Morning
We are still currently experiencing a problem with our computers and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We are unable to access our emails so if you have repeat medication requests etc please call us to order these as opposed to emailing.
We are also unable to access our practice appointment system so we’re asking clients to attend 5 minutes early for their appointments so that we can ask you to fill out a form prior to seeing the vet or nurse.
Please be patient and hopefully we’ll be back up and running in no time.
Thanks for your understanding!
We are having issues with the Internet connection at practice this morning, please bear with us if phoning in. If needing any non-urgent help, please postpone until Tuesday 2nd if possible. Thank you.
