Thank you to all the candidates who have applied for the Graphic Designer/Digital Printing Operator vacancy. We have had a great response. We have now reached the closing date for applications and are reviewing the CVs we have received.

Minuteman Press Ayr have an immediate vacancy for a full time Graphic Designer. 37.5 hours per week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

We are a very busy Digital printer located in the town centre a couple minutes’ walk from the railway station and Ayr Central. Ideally, we are looking for those with HNC, HND or degree qualifications, but would consider talented individuals without those qualifications.

A flare for Graphic Design; familiarity with computers; Customer service skills including a good telephone manner; attention to detail; the ability to spell; conscientiousness; and working to deadlines are all required to produce excellent artwork and finish it into the printed product for our many customers.

We work as a small closeknit and friendly team and are all multi-skilled. Our work and projects are diverse and you can enjoy a sense of achievement from seeing a job through from start to finish.

The 28th annual Art Exhibition is fast approaching and we have lovely paintings for you to see and buy to generate funds for Save the Children UK.

With the change to Level 0, we are fully open as normal, but please wear a mask (unless exempt) and maintain a 1 metre social distance. We request that only two people (or family/social groups) come into our shop at one time. We have clear protective screens on our counter to separate you from our staff.

I spoke with Trading Standards, yesterday, and 1) printers are not essential services, 2) Printers are not on the list of non essential shops permitted to operate a collection service. As above, YOU CAN PLACE TELEPHONE & ONLINE ORDERS for HOME DELIVERY. We will deliver for free in Ayr or Prestwick. Outwith those areas, we will have to charge for delivery or charge for postage.
I asked a specific question, if a member of the public went to do essential shopping (or exercise) and passed by our door, could they pick up an order from our doorstep? No, was the response. This would be against the regulations, as the First Minister's message is that being out for essential shopping or for exercise cannot be used as an excuse for getting non-essential items. Unfortunately, even though we sell essential items such as funeral orders of service, the regulations do not cover essential items, only essential businesses and non-essential shops allowed to operate collections services. We are really sorry, but have to comply with regulations. However, WE CAN DELIVER TO YOU Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe.

Our normal opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 9.30am to 1pm on Saturdays.

From Friday evening (6pm onwards) 20 November 2020 and until Friday 11 December 2020, based on our understanding of the new regulations for essential items and for CLICK AND COLLECT, we will be operating as follows:

We will be staying open for our normal hours, where you can come in to discuss jobs ONLY where they are for FOOD, MEDICAL, FUNERAL ORDERS OF SERVICE or other ESSENTIAL items. The limit will be one person or household in the shop at a time.

For all other items, we will be operating on a CLICK AND COLLECT basis, so you wouldn't be able to come into the shop to discuss jobs in person, as we will have the door locked. However, you can pay over the phone or via bank transfer. We can discuss jobs over the phone, or using email or our 'send a file' button (3rd from the left on the home page of our website). Once the job has been approved or agreed and we have printed it, you can then collect it. We would unlock the door for you and retreat behind our safety screens and your job will be on our counter for you to uplift. After you have left, we would lock the door to follow the guidelines for us to stay open for production.

We will be CLOSED on Friday 2nd October and Saturday 3rd October 2020, due to preparation for installation of new machinery.

We will REOPEN on Monday 5th October 2020, but may have a limited capacity.

On Tuesday 6th October, there may be some disruptions due to the new printer arriving. Commissioning of our new printer will take place on Thursday 8th October and again there may be some disruptions.

We hope to be fully operational on Friday 9th October and will open as normal from then. We will be open for our normal Saturday hours on 10th October.

Thanks to Classic Cuts of Hollow Park, Alloway for buying the first clear pull up banner today for their salon!

Clear Pull Up Banner / Salon Divider (2m high by 80cm wide 300micron clear film) - limited stock at £39.95 exVAT, £47.94 incl VAT. These are ideal for hairdressers and salons. I cannot believe that on line some of these are £66+VAT! We want to support Ayrshire to get back into business.

We've printed some leaflets for VASA (Voluntary Action South Ayrshire), a registered charity, who have set up a South Ayrshire Lifeline support number on 0800 432 0510, open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm.

Their volunteers can order & deliver food for the elderly or vulnerable. Their service has a minimum order value of £5 and they can only accept card payments over the phone.

Hearing aid batteries can be ordered and posted out free of charge

Prescription pick up and delivery is available for the elderly and vulnerable who do not already get them delivered.

Please note we are closed for general printing, but are still printing for essential services and businesses including food, medical, utilities and support services. If you do need to visit our shop, we have a protective screen to separate customers and staff and will maintain physical distancing of 2 metres.
