The inside leg kick is a very underutilized tool by many Muay Thai and MMA fighters. Being able to use this effective technique will help you gauge your range, set up combinations and disrupt your opponents timing.
In this Muay Thai technique video tutorial, former USTMA champ and owner of Eight Points Muay Thai, Chris Clodfelter, shows us the importance of the inside low kick and how to use it to set up certain strikes and angles.

Have a Merry Christmas and a fit New Year
Hi all.
During this busy time of year the numbers have been dropping recently. This is a common trend for all sports clubs in the run up to Christmas.
For the next 2 weeks, if I have less than 4 training I will have to cancel the session.
Not to worry if you can't come along though - i will still be there to help you with your New Year resolutions. ππ
Respekt!!

This bout forever changed the landscape of kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA in North America. You'll find no other fight that is as dramatic, with both fighters displaying tremendous heart.

Never shy of offering his brutally honest opinion, the apex predator himself UK #1 Chris Shaw tells us exactly why he is going to beat the phenom Superlek at Yokkao in four weeks time, as well as breaking down the competition at the Power of Scotland's 25th Anniversary 8 Man Β£10,000 GP Tournament in November....
Read on and enjoy!
FS - Hi Chris, you're just about to take on the biggest fight of your career against one of the best pound for pound Muay Thai fighters in the world right now, Superlek Kiatmoo 9, how are you feeling?
CS - Buzzing, I can't wait, others turned this down, in fact I know Panicos asked for over double what I asked for to take this the fight and that was a reasonable request considering how tough this fight is...but its the challenge I want and appreciate Yokkao for offering me the fight.
FS - Superlek is one of the best pound for pound Muay Thai fighters on the planet and I understand you were offered a weight range to fight him yet you declined to make him fight heavier, what was your reasons?
CS - Thai's always give a lot of weight away to foreigners to make it more competitive, but I'm number 1 at 61.5kg so I'm strong there and when I beat him I don't want any excuses...
..I want the best guys at their best weights to really test myself!
FS - You seem to be the underdog every time you go down to fight at Yokkao, but you seem to perform well in that position, does that help you?
CS - I don't think so, though I do enjoy shutting everyone up. When I first fought Meleady, I was expected to get beat convincingly and it was a really close fight...with Bennoui I was expected to get hurt and I drowned him, this time I'm sure people will expect me to get picked off but i'm hungry and confident!
I'm nothing like the fighter I was when I last lost to Panicos, I'm constantly evolving and since training at BoxFit Glasgow with the POS Fight Team I just feel like I'm constantly getting better. Not just wee improvements, I'm just coming into my prime and you're going to see some new weapons in my bag in this fight!
I know he's a monster, I know how big this is and that's exactly why I believe I'm going to win. This is his job, that means he does it because he has to...aye he's awesome at it and going to push me harder than I've ever been pushed before, but I want to be in there! I work 6 days a week, see my fiancΓ© about 7 hours through the entire week as I'm grafting and then busting my ass in the gym, he doesn't want it as much as me, he can't and that's why I am going to wear him down!
FS - You are also on POS25 on the 25th Nov and to mark this landmark Gary is bringing back the 63.5kg 8to1 tournament that was the main event of POS1 back in 2006, with a total prize money of Β£10,000! Can you give us your thoughts on the tournament?
CS - I've been asking my coach Gary to do this for ages, but I know it's a hard thing for him to arrange as a promoter as tournaments fall apart all the time, but he has done a few of them so knows how to pull it off. Although I can't believe how hard it's been for him...I just don't understand how "fighters" can turn it down. Domestically he's managed to get the two guys at the number one spot; Nathan Bendon at 63.5kg and myself at 61.5kg. It's a tournament so we have everything to risk and for any up and coming or lower ranked fighter this is a great opportunity. You might get us all banged up or maybe we'll be trying to fight strategically to get to the final and you can come in and go for it for 3 rounds, catch us on our heels and maybe set up other fights not to mention win some serious money.
I'm getting married a couple of weeks later, which btw Paige, I love you and thanks for only putting a one month ban on me!
Seriously, more people have knocked it back than taken the slots, all the ones that say they want to be the best, moan about money etc, well here is your shot, here is a big prize, don't focus on the smaller purse if you lose in the first round, are you a real fighter? Do you believe in yourself? Clearly not and you shouldn't as I've already got the prize money included in the spending money for my honeymoon... I'll be enjoying overpriced cocktails in the Maldives with it all.
FS - Tournaments are notorious for changing lineups in the run up to the show, how is the lineup looking at the moment, is it still as announced at the last POS show?
CS - Nah they shat it, ha ha! Brough pulled early with a family wedding which is fair enough. I think Miller is out which is madness as he was calling out Luke Turner after his first win over Cullen and then wanting to pullout after his last loss to Cullen... but he's been doing well in Thailand and seems to have found some confidence so maybe that will keep him in it. Then myself, Bendon, Mo, Dickson and Sergio are all still in
...and I shouldn't really say this but there is another ex-Lion fight champion just confirmed, which I'm buzzing about as I have wanted to fight him for a while!
FS - There has been let slip on Facebook something about another Manchester based fighter also confirmed...any hints?
CS - Haha...he's going to kill me for saying this. Let's just say he's a classy young southpaw who could do well in a 3 round format.
FS - What are your thoughts on the other guys in the lineup, how do you feel you stack up against them?
CS - Bendon has improved a lot under Dean and Tony, he's strong and over 3 rounds is good for him as I think he has quit in him, he knows I'll try and drown him and 3 rounds will be tight but I've also got more tools.
Sergio is a big name with and even bigger heed, too big too miss that thing. He'll think he's surrounded!
Mo is a dangerous and unpredictable guy, I think everyone else will be shocked with his style and aggression, but it took me a round to work him out and then I controlled it, plus I was burst after kicking Maxim around.
Dickson is hot and cold, but even hot he is one dimensional, all that time in Thailand and he's not improved one bit. He only fights washed up Thais in mma gloves...I'll take his best punches and laugh at him.
The other two are good as well, but I'll talk about them nearer the time if you want to talk again.
..also while I'm on a rant there's guys like Paul Barber and Spencer Brown posting about wanting a fight with me. Both of them were asked to fight in the tournament with months of notice and turned it down . Paul Barber was moaning that it's 2kg heavier than his fight weight ..... pathetic! There's other 61kg fighters in it like myself...Spencer Brown you either fight for the money or to be the best and this tournament has both so stop making excuses.
There's levels to this s**t and your not there yet.
FS - Thanks for your time Chris, you're a busy man with a lot on your plate so really appreciate it! Best of luck with Superlek and the 8 man.
Back in action this Tuesday at 5:45 - spread the word.
