A club where the players are developed firstly by being given opportunity.
Next up was the 2011, 2010 and 2009 groups. The kids we have watched grow over the years!! They are an amazing group of youngsters who we hope have made some friends for life.
Well done to everyone involved!! Keep going stars!!
Saturday past seen our end of seasons awards nights. We kicked off with the younger age groups. These kids may only be small but have have bags of energy and talent to boot. Our future stars!!
Well done to all the kids involved, the work and dedication they all have is second to none!!
First of all, thank you all parents and kids and friends of Star for such a wonderful evening, it meant so much to me and Claire, all the comments, cards and presents etc
For anyone wondering of our decision to step away, it's simple, firstly the club needs structure and stability, secondly Claire works 2 jobs and finally, I want to enjoy my 2 boys playing football ππ
Tonight showed what this wee club is capable of going forward and with the backing of the Carson Project and the heart of those talking tonight it will move to the next level.
I received so many kind words tonight and trust me when I say it is because of your kids we have loved our time at Star. There is a reason I shed a tear the first night the littlest Stars got a win, the first Friday Alex came skipping down after a win, when the all-girl's team go out and make a statement, the 2011's go on a winning streak, the 2010's go out and make a statement win and the 2009's get their first win. The reaction of the kids on days like that is something else. It's not just wins but, its reactions on kids faces when they hit a ball like they never connected with it before, when they hit the sweetest tackle ever and even the opposition goes "damn" or when someone stands back and thinks "that girl is just as good as the boys"
Tonight cemented mine and Claire's belief that stands for something special
Thank you all for allowing us to be a part of your children's life it has been an honour

If you feel you would have the time or commitment to get involved and help the Stars shine then please get in touch with the page and let us know about you ππ

Last Thursday saw Star field an all girl's team for the first time and oh my what bright Stars they were.
A dominant perfeo mance including a hat-trick for the one little lady that won't celebrate lol.
Special mention also to the new coaching staff Abbie following in her dad's footsteps ππ
There will be a lot to come from these girls although they will continue to develop alongside the boys we will ensure they Star in their own right. ππ
Last Saturday morning in Harry Gregg foundation saw a milestone for Star with all 3 teams coming away with the win.
2009's had a great back and forth but their dominance at the end let them come away 5-2 winners.
2010's produced their best performance to date and it was awarded with a 5-1 victory.
2011's had the toughest game with 0-0 up until the last 10 mins and their desire to win took them over the line with 3 goals coming away with the 3-0 win.

MOTM was an overall performance for 2009's. For 2010's Riley was such a dominating presence in defence. 2011's was goalkeeper Ethan for the constant saves to come away with a clean sheet against a good Ballykeel team.
Folks these are always well run and great for the kids on their holidays ππ

Saturday morning in Coleraine was very positive this week.
2009's went behind to a well drilled Portstewart who took advantage of the sun and wind and cut out the keeper and defence. But Star gradually grew into the game and soon took the lead, there was a bit of back and forth before Star moved out in front by 2 goals to take the win.
2010's started so well and took the lead from a lot of neat play and a great speed on the break. It was perhaps their best complete display especially against a very capable opposition who played some nice football. Unfortunately failing to clear the ball done the harm and in the end we lost by a one goal deficit.
2011's with a great performance yet again from the boys kept on battling and didnβt give up even when they felt decisions werenβt going their way. They showed great resilience to come back from 1-0 down to get a very well deserved victory.

MOTM for 2009's was Rhys G who was very assured at the back, clearing up everything. 2010's was Charlie who pulled off some great saves to keep us in it and wasn't at fault for any of the goals conceded. 2011's split between Tyler and Harley, Harley was his usual self getting about the pitch attacking each and every ball and being in space for the passes and Tyler for how well his confidence has grew after a couple of years out of the game and is fitting in well.
Friday fun at the showgrounds for Small Sided Games as usual.
2 great games for the 2013's group. The Youths lost tightly to a very direct Carniny team, our nerves getting the better of us at first before we grew into the game. Then the Juniors came up against the Larne Ladies who are a fantastic and solid footballing side, but the tight pass and move build ups created too many chances for them to cope with h and with Star on such fine scoring form the goals tallied up well.
2014's lost first game 1-0, second game by a few more and third game 3-2, so the improvements are there and so are the goals at times, the third match showed that when we are confident enough to have a crack and Alfie was rewarded with a goal from the halfway ππ

MOTM 2013's first match was Ryan with his best performance in a Star shirt to date ππ. Second game was Danny, 3 well taken goals and a brilliant midfield performance always looking for the forward pass and being a great link moving the ball up the pitch. For the 2014's is split between Alfie and Ricksen who are our two main aggressor's and continue to cut out many attacks.
Friday nights games saw the 2013's continue to field 2 teams and performances are still there.
The first team was an utter dominant performance that showed the boys and girls are really listening and developing playing lovely football. The second team came up against tough opposition but after being 6-0 down brought it back to only lose by the one goal at 8-7.
The 2014's continue to grow with a total of 12 players turning up for small sided games and the only fault was the manager for rotating too much but the game time at this point is very important and several goals proved that including a debut goal for Ryan whilst his twin Chris continued to impress in nets.

2013's First game was Leah who was outstanding alongside Zack giving him the confidence to push forward and second game Lucas who continues to real wee workhorse on the pitch and it's showing with the goals now. Special mention to Charlie for the goalscoring form he has currently.
2014's goes to the twins Chris and Ryan who are proving a great addition to the squad
Saturday morning recap
2011's had an absolute cracker of a performance from the boys today. They gave their all and showed us what they are more than capable of, which resulted in a fantastic win. Boys took their training to the field and today it showed. Brilliant foot work, loads of positivity, communication down to a tee and most of the time managed to keep formation. All in all a great team effort.
2010's struggled to finish the ball creating several opportunities but unfortunately not finishing the ball cost us with only one goal for us.
2009's had a great all round performance, kept their shape at the back drove down the wings and put loads of pressure on up top and it paid off including a wee shimmy and nice finish from Noodles (Riley) for his first goal.

MOTM for 2011's goes to Rhys for an outstanding performance. For 2010's was great performance from Bryce being a real driving force. And for 2009's goes to the whole team after a long week they put the heads down and dug deep for the performance.
Great afternoons entertainment provided competed by the Homers, well done da wee haffa team
The boys and girl were at it again on Saturday.
2011's came away with a great first half performance and score to match.
2010's played fantastic football but we're outplayed, but not to the level the scoreline suggested. And the 2009's had a game of 2 halves with them actually winning the second half but unfortunately the first half deficit was too much to overcome.

MOTM
2011's split between Rhys for the dominance in front of goals and Matt for constantly driving forward despite getting kicked up and down the pitch. 2010's went to the debutant Kolt who showed some real promise with several nice touches and great running of the shoulders of the defenders. 2009's split 3 way based on the second half with John W and Jacob rotating well in midfield protecting the defence and pushing the attacks and Ejaz for re-enforcing the defence when he came on.
Friday night fun at it tonight with our first time fielding a second team at 2013 age group
First game the more experienced players came up against a well organised Northend team. After running into a 4-1 lead, we allowed Northend back into it and then when they took the lead we kept coming back and equalising then they took the lead again and it felt like we were gonna let it get away but we pulled out the winner when it was 7-7 to finish 8-7 to Star, what a game. The second game we had William debut in nets and Alex came outfield. We took a 1 nil lead thru Tori then went in 2-1 down at half time got level from a well taken goal by Charlie but a few late goals seen us beat 5-2. Great performance regardless from a very inexperienced star team at Friday night matches.
The 2014's are progressing every week and growing too with our first set of twins making their debuts. Their confidence is growing each week and to think that half of them are younger than 2014 is great optimism for the future

Man of match
First game for 2013's is split between the experienced goalkeeper Alex who pulled off several outstanding saves to keep Star in the he game and also the smallest man on the pitch Troy popping up with 7 goals including a Ronaldo-esque header ππ
For the second game William in nets made some fantastic saves on his debut and another fine goalkeeper coming thru the ranks at Star united.
Finally for the 2014's it goes to young Lewis who my 2 assistants (sons) picked for his sheer determination and battling, hence he got rewarded with 2 goals.
Saturday at Coleraine saw the usual mixed bag of results.
2009's came up against a stubborn Draperstown team but was a close affair, and young Kaleb Carson was able to net himself a goal but wasn't enough for a share of points.
2010 were quite dominant for a second week running and came away with a great result against a strong Portrush Girls team. A hat trick for Matthew and goals for Iulian, Jamie and Bryce rounded it off.
2011's put on another impressive display and were allow more stubborn against a very strong Coleraine team. Good halves for PK and Alex in nets in the absence of Ethan and also a debut for Vlad rounding off an ever improving team.

The 2013's returned for their Friday at the Showgrounds against an experienced girls team. So Star brought all their little ladies, the squad of 10 consisting of our 6 girls and to see them all on the pitch at one point with just our keeper Alex the only boy on the field of play was amazing to see and another tip of the hat to the effort of the coaches too.

Man of the match is split between the captain Zack who had a dominant performance including the goals and starting off some fantastic moves leading to the goals and Madison who had a fantastic game in the midfield. Special mention to Tori on her first night at the matches and has showed some lively football in and around the box coming close and only the post denying a debut goal.
Friday nights at the showgrounds back up and running and the 2014's showed some great pressing football. Once we start to find that finishing touch we could see some high scoring games.
Our goal scorer for the evening was our youngest player Ricksen with a fine strike ππ
Man of the match for the evening goes to Olly who has improved a lot since before Christmas and it showed.
With the Last Man Standing competition now into week 2, our initial 56 became 34
The 34 now have their choices in for this week as follows:
Arsenal 3
Aston Villa 5
Brighton 3
Chelsea 4
Leicester 1
Liverpool 11
Man City 5
West Ham 2
Good Luck ππ
Another mixed bag at the weekend this time with the 2011's struggling to score, although the new formation was coming into play well showing some positive attacks.
2010's had a great win with positives all round the pitch from defence right through to attack.
2009's had a great win in the first game including a halfway line clearance come goal for Ejaz. But the second game was on too many and their tired legs showed.

Saturday was such a mix bag, but one with one of the best pieces of news, the 2009's got their first win ππ
They came up against an experienced girls team who were every bit as physical as the boys so provided a great end to end game but 2 goals from Steven and 1 from John W combined with a first clean sheet for Oliwier gave the boys their first celebration of the season.
2011's also came up against an experienced and very physical girls team but with some high pressing football and using the wings, Harley's hat-trick saw them take the lead.
2010's unfortunately we're battling against the heavy wind and some of the guys weren't ready for the cold cold weather, so by the second half when we eventually got going it was too little too late, but some of Stars counter attacking was so surprising and will only improve

MOTM for the 2009's cannot come down to any one person, the whole team earned it, including the coaches who have took the boys back to basics to push on. For 2010's, debutant Iulian showed a hunger and drive most were missing today due to the cold weather. And for the 2011's Dawson had such a steady game, driving down the line and still defending well

First weekend back at Harry Foundation and it was a mixed bag.
2009's played some decent football and stayed in the game for the first 20 mins but eventually the heads dropped and the goals were conceded, but was good to see a wee focus in their eyes this week
2010's came out on the losing end of a very tight game but it comes down to 2 mistakes by our keeper and us not taking our chances otherwise this could have been a very different game. Jamie's goal was a great effort, well earned.
2011's go off to flyer for 2022 with constant pressure by all forward players, including debutant Matt playing mainly on left midfield/wing and very very assured defensive performance including a clean sheet for Ethan in nets.

MOTM
For 2009's was young Bryce who was helping due to depleted numbers shows that desire plays a big part of the game.
2010's was Reece Swann (our very own Stuart Dallas playing 3 positions and steady as a rock in all 3)
2011's cannot single out any one player as that was our best ever team performance to date ππ
Sunday morning saw the 2009's host Ballycastle.
Boys started to show they could play on the break creating a few chances but with a few players missing a lot was placed on the shoulders of boys playing out of position but they done their job and played right to the final whistle but unfortunately Ballycastle were just too strong.
MOTM young Oliver establishing himself in nets with some great saves ππ
Thanks again to Spar Larne Road for their ongoing support, this is the club's new coach jackets/raincoats looking the part ππ
