Killough 2 Drumaness Mills Res 5.
The reserves headed for Killough today full of confidence despite knowing that they faced one of the toughest challenges in the league.
Their work rate today matched that confidence and they came away with all three points. Killough's first defeat of the season.
Killough as expected dominated in the first 10 minutes but were met by a determined and resiliant Keelan Gelston in goal.
Very soon the Mills settled in and began to move the ball sharply. The home side couldnt cope with the movement inevitably Oran Bolton broke the deadlock.
Soon after Tiarnan Megoran had a penalty saved but from the resulting corner the winger poked home from close range to spare his blushes.
Killough pulled a goal back in the 35th minute but that man Bolton restored the two goal lead with a piece of trickery that left three defenders searching for the ball on the edge of the box before he slotted into the bottom corner.
The second half was a mirror image of the first. Killough started strong and made it 3-2 on the hour mark.
Nerves began to show in the Mills ranks but the introduction of Sean Rafferty followed by Philip Rogan ensured that Killough's dominance was short lived.
The Mills began to attack again and they had their two goal lead restored again following a looping effort from Sean McQuoid which had Killough's excitable goalkeeper scrambling. Unsurprisingly, McQuoid's effort found the top corner. 4-2!
Killough still pressed and posed a threat but Jack Kerr clinched the victory with a convincing header from a corner.
Drumaness had good performances throughout their lineup but man of the match was goalkeeper Keelan Gelston who thwarted many chances and controlled his area well!
