Christmas is a unique collective psychological moment in time, and as such leaders should be taking advantage of this and exploiting the opportunity to communicate in a very special way with their managers and employees...
A Christmas Message is not just for Christmas, it’s for Life | CEQ What a year! The pressures of volatile economic and political environments have taken a heavy toll on our executives, managers and employees. More than ever before, people are heading off for the holidays in a state of some uncertainty, anxiety and perhaps even exhaustion. It’s been a relentless y...
So here we are 10 years on; I am older and even more experienced, yet still learning every day and still relishing my opportunities to work with inspiring leaders...
When I founded Collaborative Equity I had already spent 35 years in the corporate world, as a junior manager and senior executive, as a CEO and Chairman, as a Coach and Consultant. I wanted to create an organisation that embodied and role modelled all the principles and practices I had learned, developed and refined over the years – Trust, Sustainability, Humanity and Overdelivery.
I decided on Collaborative Equity to encapsulate my beliefs – ‘Collaborative’ to stand for the encouragement of collective learning and thriving, and ‘Equity’ to stand for the equality of responsibility and reward for all stakeholders. The bonus was that Collaborative Equity neatly fitted the acronym CEQ, which also stands for my central leadership methodology of Corporate Emotional Intelligence.
We have assembled an incredibly talented team along the way, and we’ve delivered leadership coaching and training to thousands of managers and leaders all over the world. Our core coaching methodology, OUCH! (Our Unconscious Controlling Habits) is used by major corporations globally and our unique Change frameworks have supported and inspired the transformation of many organisations, including: Google, Centrica, Dole, Travis Perkins, Heathrow and B&Q.
As part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations through 2024, and in a small way to recognise and say thank you to our many valued clients, we’re going to be offering some freebies on our Newsletter and website so keep your eyes peeled and make sure you apply!

You might be alone but that does not mean you're lonely.
What is the difference between being lonely and being alone?
You could be surrounded by family and friends and still feel incredibly lonely. You could be home alone and be very content and happy. You could have your social diary full but still have this constant feeling that you are on your own.
Being alone is a choice of being on your own or limiting your social life. Being lonely is longing for relationships that you do not have or being in crowd that you lack a real connection with. While lonliness is not in itself a mental health problem, it does have an impact on our mental health.
Together we can tackle loneliness! We are here to help you navigate this.

Truly Great Feedback Hurts | CEQ The biggest problem we have with giving feedback is that we believe it involves passing judgment on people. In other words that we have to tell them they are not doing well enough, or not doing it right. These are judgments, and I don’t know about you, but if someone judges me I t
