What an incredible wedding on Saturday for Ellie & Andy at Hedsor House on one of the sunniest days I can remember this year and a ‘golden hour’ that was just perfect!
With a ceremony at the local church St Nicolas it was a total celebration of love and laughter and even Hedsor’s resident Highland Cows were treated to carrots from the bride & groom!

Happy 1 year anniversary to Jessica & Jonathan who tied the knot exactly 1 year ago today at Hedsor House.
Their wedding album arrived back from Queensberry in New Zealand just last week in time for their anniversary and it is beyond stunning. The couple opted to have their album bound in a classic black leather, custom Debossed with their names, wedding date and the venue Hedsor House
The couple adore black & white photography and decided to have a completely black & white filled wedding album.

Not too many weddings in the UK that you get this sort of incredible backdrop or such a vibrant coloured wedding dress!
This was taken at the July wedding of Vicky & Jon by the lake by the foot of Mount Snowdon in Snowdonia, Wales at Llyn Gwynant Stone Barns.
I’m just finishing the edit on this one…..what a setting!!

Such a cool Asian pre-wedding shoot done in Oxford city centre last month. We met at 7.30am when the city was quiet and before the tourists arrived so were able to capture images at the Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library, Bridge of Sighs, Broad Street, Brasenose Lane and Keeble College where to groom studied.

A real international feel shoot with the groom to be flying in from New York and his Fiancé from the Far East.
What a lovely a cool, fun couple to photograph!

Sneaky peek from a fabulous Asian pre-wedding shoot in Oxford a couple of weeks ago.
I really love the fact you have your look a couple of times before you spot the couple silhouette in the bottom right hand window.
The space between their heads forms an almost perfect heart shape!
Hope you like it, abstract and different. Can’t wait to finish the edit and share more from this stunning editorial style shoot.

Jonathan & Sophie finally got married (after a couple of postponements!) at Brasenose university college chapel in Oxford City and had their reception in the stunning Divinity School at The Bodleian (made famous in the Harry Potter movies!).
We even got to visit the famous Bodleian library (again used as Hogwarts Library in Harry Potter) for some couple photos. Oxford is such a cool city to take a couple out to for their photos it’s just so iconic.

What an amazing personal branding photoshoot I did a couple of weeks ago in historic Oxford city centre taking in all the sights and ending at Christchurch University College where this was taken. Poht who lives in Yangon, Myanmar was a student of Oxford and wanted a photoshoot to remember her time there studying. Just the loveliest person and it was great how her outfits matched the honey sandstone of the college walls. I couldn’t have asked for a better outdoor studio!!
I loved chatting to Poht about Myanmar which I visited in Jan 2020 just before lockdown. Poht has spotted some of my travel Myanmar images and got in touch!

After photographing weddings at Oxfordshire’s beautiful Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons for 17 years since 2008 I found a new space last month that I have never photographed…..an outdoor ceremony in The Wildflower Garden.
I think I might be my new favourite outdoor space ever for an intimate wedding.
How beautiful to get married under the branches of apple trees surrounded by the most incredible wild flowers then step out onto the York stone pathway that leads up to Le Manoir lined with the most vibrant and fragrant purple Hidecote lavender full of pollinators.
To top that how about your mum being the registrar that marries you!

Beyond proud to have finally received my certificate confirming that I have been awarded a Professional Photography Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society and can now officially use the letters ‘FRPS’ after my name. 17 years of hard work, sometimes unsociable working hours and over 500 weddings photographed so it makes me very happy to see it hanging on my studio wall. This is added to my Fellowships from the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photographers) and from the former MPA (Master Photographers Association).
Most importantly beyond all the letters which may seem meaningless to many, for all my current and future clients it means capturing your most important day is in a very safe and trusted pair of hands!

Delighted to see that this ‘bride in the window’ image from the May 2024 wedding of Ellie & Ashley at Hedsor House was selected as ‘Image of The Day’ by the Guild of Photographers and shown all day yesterday on their page.

The dramatic landscape of Snowdonia National Park in North Wales was the setting for this ‘sneaky peek’ image created on Saturday at Vicky & Jon’s wedding.
The weather ended up to be stunning in the golden hour and some off camera flash created a bit of drama for this image. The bride wore a bespoke couture royal blue corseted wedding gown with black mesh underskirt. It’s so unusual to get a ‘selfie’ with a client but my lovely client today, all the way from Myanmar, snapped this at the end of our fashion/graduation/branding shoot taking in the sights of Oxford and ending up at the jaw dropping Christchurch University College.
What a great shoot to close the last 7 days as a working professional photographer that has had me shooting everything….Weddings, Bo***ir, Pre-wedding shoots and Portraits/Corporate. Heading off to photograph a fabulously wild wedding in the mountains of Snowdonia in Wales this weekend that will be a first for me!

At first glance a normal confetti shot,but LOOK AGAIN 👀 …..it wasn’t enough to just throw a handful of confetti so a guest decided to throw the whole confetti basket too!……….you can clearly see it in mid-air after it left the guests hand…but don’t stress it missed the couple completely!

So interesting that for so many people in this Guides for Brides survey they answered that they most regretted the decision NOT to hire a professional photographer (apart from the ones that regretted their choice of husband! 😂😂😜).
As one of the most important days and certainly one of the most expensive I find it staggering so many people use a ‘family friend’ to capture the day or guests with iPhones.
I know I’m banging this drum as a professional photographer but as this is the only lasting memory you will have from your day hire the best you can afford. Someone who does this job week in week out rain or shine.
You can’t go back and redo it so if you have to cut something elsewhere to free up budget you will not regret a single £ of what you spend on photography. Trust me after 17 years of doing this job I do listen to couple after couple tell me how glad they are that they spent the budget on getting great pictures from a
Professional!
Lecture over, soap box climbed down from and going back in my corner!!
