“My absolute favourite part is the team! I love working with such a fantastic group of people, and I couldn't do my job without them. Because we’re a small team, there is a real sense of collaboration at Bloxham Mill, and we all work together to provide an excellent experience for our clients. I also love the problem-solving element of my job. For example, if someone needs a larger space, it's my job to find it for them. As cliché as it sounds, I love finding solutions and seeing happy clients!”

2️⃣ Can you share a memorable experience or project you’ve worked on here?

“When I first started at Bloxham Mill, I helped to manage the development of the Hive, our co-working space. It's been amazing to see the project flourish over time. The Hive is now a bustling business community which is so great to see!”

3️⃣ If you had to describe Bloxham Mill in one word, what would it be?

“Vibrant!”

🧠 Mental Health Awareness Week - We all know how important it is to take care of our mental health, so we organized a few low-key activities for clients at Bloxham Mill in support of Mental Health Awareness Week! We enjoyed a couple of brisk lunchtime walks, heard from Lillie of Energize and Thrive, as well as Karen Janes from The KJ Way, and enjoyed a bumper Coffee and Catch Up session!

Spotlight: Meet Gabriel Wingrove

Since graduating with his degree in Computing (Cybersecurity) at the end of 2023, Gabriel has been diving into an internship-style role with Aquila Learning at Bloxham Mill. As he gears up for his Master’s degree in Computer Science, we caught up with him to learn about his journey and experiences.

◾️ Why did you choose to take the internship-style role with Aquila?
"After my undergrad, I had a gap before my Master's started, and Aquila offered me an exciting role in software development support. It’s been an invaluable experience, and I jumped at the chance!"

◾️ What have you enjoyed most about the internship?
"I’ve loved getting stuck into a wide variety of tasks—from database management to designing data science prototypes. Every day brings something new, keeping my role exciting and dynamic!"

◾️ What do you like about Bloxham Mill?
"Being one of the youngest here, I thought it might take a while to blend in, but it's been quite the opposite. I’ve enjoyed meeting diverse professionals and expanding my network, enhancing my people skills immensely, which will no doubt aid my future career."

Gabriel’s journey is a brilliant example of how internships can bridge the gap between academic achievements and real-world applications, providing hands-on experience that is both enriching and essential.

“What I love about working at Bloxham Mill is the sense of community and the genuine connections I get to make with both colleagues and clients. It feels like being part of one big, supportive family where everyone is friendly and welcoming. A great business community and a great working environment.”

2️⃣ Can you share a memorable experience or project you’ve worked on here?

“Recently, I led a project with the local council who required a large, professional, and confidential space for a public inquiry. Upon receiving this bespoke request, I engaged with the council over the phone to fully understand their needs. After the council had visited Bloxham Mill, to understand it’s suitability, we set up the space, laying out the furniture, so that it was fit for purpose. On the day of the inquiry, we warmly greeted guests and organised a special breakfast. Throughout the process, I liaised with the council, ensuring smooth proceedings. Overall, it was a rewarding project to work on!”

3️⃣ If you had to describe Bloxham Mill in one word, what would it be?

“Real”

▪️ Renovations: We’re in the process of making significant updates to some of our meeting rooms and our reception area, enhancing your experience and our facility’s overall ambiance. ▪️ Welcoming friends: In line with our community ethos, we were pleased to host Right Here Creative earlier in the week for a business pitch video session. It was great to see our clients getting involved with this.
