**Volunteer Puppy Socialiser**
The charity Medical Detection Dogs (MDD) needs more amazing volunteer Puppy Socialisers in and around Bicester, Brackley and Milton Keynes to welcome one of its puppies into their lives and start them on their life-saving journey.
Socialising involves caring for and training a puppy or young dog with support and guidance from MDD, using reward-based techniques. It’s a full-time commitment (and a very fulfilling one), helping to shape the puppy into a lifesaving adult as either a Medical Alert Assistance Dog or a Bio Detection Dog. Volunteer Puppy Socialisers need to care for the puppies, take them to regular classes near MK (reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed) and ensure they learn key skills and behaviours, including how to be confident and well behaved on public transport, in supermarkets, and anywhere else they may need to go when working. Food and vet bills are covered by the charity.

Woodgreen, the animal charity helps pets and their owners. People travel far and wide to our dedicated rescue centre and we provide support nationwide, also helping with vets' bills and providing information and advice to pet owners. To fund our work, we run 27 shops across the country and that's where we're hoping you come in as a Shop Volunteer. We need shop volunteers to help serve customers, put out new stock and create displays. Even if you don't have experience we provide full training. Bicester shop has vacancies throughout the week and is in urgent need of shop floor volunteers, so if you could spare even half a day we would love to hear from you. The aim is to aid rehabilitation, which in turn will keep our communities safer. The role of the volunteer will be to form a ‘Circle of Support and Accountability’ around a high-risk offender (known as the Core Member) living in, or due to be released into the community. A Circle provides a structured support network to the Core Member whilst holding them accountable for their behaviour. The Circle works in close partnership with the statutory agencies and is managed by a trained professional known as the Circle Coordinator. Volunteers will gain extensive training as well as learning valuable skills in working with challenging behaviours, communication, effective observations, professional boundaries and modelling pro social behaviours. It can also provide a sense of achievement in being able to be part of providing a safer community in your local area. The training commitment is 2 half days online and a full day in person. Once this is completed the time commitment will be roughly an hour and a half each week for 12 months. We are looking for volunteers in the Southampton area.

Volunteer Day – Saturday 8th June 🔴🟡

Here is an important date for your diary: Banbury United’s Volunteer Day on Saturday 8th June. We are inviting friends of the Club old and new to come down to the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium between 10am to 4pm on what will hopefully be a sunny Saturday to get involved in getting us ship shape for the new season.

We will come together and undertake various maintenance work to the ground and Spencer Clubhouse. Tasks will include painting, weeding, deep cleaning and works to the inside the clubhouse, among many other things! These days are a lot of fun and very rewarding so we hope people can pop down, even for an hour or two and join in. Thank you.

Any questions, or offers of specific skills, materials, tools or equipment, please email [email protected]
