Good luck this evening to the England's men team .... ITS COMING HOME!!!

Today game against beighton magpies was a good hard scrap between 2 evenly fought teams beighton took a early 2 goal advantage in the first half then up stepped the boys they dug deep the battled hard and a clawed there way back to a 2 - 2. We pushed and pushed for a winner but with the weather against us and beighton playing some good football we went down to a 4 2 loss.. the team showed character passion bravery and courage... paulo di canio opened his account for the season with a good 2 goals..

Man of the match today was taylor... came on off the bench and changed the run of play completely added some serious levels of attack to them. Great determination and commitment shown by Tdog tday well done mate keep up the hard work 👊👊

Isak came to us half way throu the season and what an addition he was, nimble, fast, courageous, dynamic, skillful amd a very keen eye for the goal delivers week in week out.

Kai is big strong loves a tackle, he's committed and determined to do better each game, a great leader of the boys always trying to spurr them on.

Davids on his 3rd season with the boys, and is brilliant with the lads has them constantly in laughter at how rubbish is at football.

Davids a whizz kid on the social media aspects amd will be hands on with team news and alerts over the season.

We held our yearly end of season presentation night this evening at barugh green club.

On behalf of the team we'd like to thank all who came and supported the boys, it was a great success

We at Silkstone Common Miners Welfare FC would like to say a massive thankyou today to everyone who came to the lads vs dads mini tournament we held today..

Firstly a huge well done to all the kids and parents that participated today.. some excellent displays of football from the kids some good displays from the parents.

The u9s kids vs the dads game went to penalties goals from Ondrie mann and thomas hill sent the dads 2 0 up then goals from Tyler Pop levelled the score at 2 -2... penalties came and Thomas Hill fetched out the masterclass and schooled his own kid in the penalty shootout to give the Dads the bragging rights this week 🤣🤣🤣

The u10s kids vs dads game was a cracker the kids showed 0 mercy at all and ruthlessly started there attack goals from lennon, grayson and harry really showed the parents who the bosses were 🤣🤣 the parents did manage to grab a consilation goal to end the gane 3 1 to the kids.

The u9s kids and u10s kids what a game that was with the u9s taking the advantage in the first half with all the momentum.....a fantastic team talk at half time feom Russ Howe Tristan Green then saw the under 10s come out with 2 crackers from harry and lennon to give the u10s a 2 -0 lead.. step up Paulo di canio to steal a beauty of a goal to make it a very interesting end to the game.... that game ended 2 - 1 to the u10s a cracking game to watch.

The u9s parents vs u10s parents game was a great way to end the day goals from Sam Barron andy barlow and Carl Green saw the u9s take the early advantage and hold the lead till the end a good display from.both sides.

Lastly id like to say a thanks to hayley and Jodie Popplewell for manning the refreshments tables today..

Good morning all,, today is our club fund raiser event its rhe lads vs dads hoping to great fun for all... fingers crossed the weather will hold calm down... well have family football, refreshments, hot and cold drinks, snacks football cards and last of the all the kids beating the parents 🤣🤣

Its a 2pm start on the silkstone common recreational ground on hallroyd walk...

U9S GAME REPORT
Today we travelled to our furthiest Away game of the season Eccelsall rangers with the sun shinning and the kids raring to go we roared into a early lead a composed finished by isak set the frame for the game with paul also joining in on the goal scoring. We went into half time with a steady 4 0 lead.

2nd half we continued to push and isak grabbed that 3rd goal to complete his hat trick and take us to 5 -0 a great consolation goal was scored by the home team to make it 5 1, paul unfortunately had a goal disallowed also.

A terrific game toay from everyone on the pitch a one everyone should be proud off.
