Brierley Cubs Whites U12s

Our Cubs U12'S Whites were back in action today for their first game of 2024 away at Tickhill.
The starting line up was Leo in goal, Bobby, Jackson and Jakey in defence, Alfie, Rhuben and Xander in midfield, Jacob and Peter upfront.
As expected with nearly 3 weeks off the game started off quite slow with both teams trying to find their rhythm.
The lads pressed hard keeping Tickhill in their half and winning the ball back. Jacob found the back of the net through strong determination from Alfie. 1-0 Cubs.
A couple of changes were made with Filip and Alfie G coming on due to injuries. The lads continued working hard with Tickhill only having a few chances but our defence and Leo dealt with them comfortably.
Our second goal came from Jacob just before half time which the keeper was really unlucky with. 2-0 cubs at half time.
Jack and Gracen came on for the second half, both got stuck in straight away but Tickhill came out fighting and caught us sleeping which got them a goal to make it 2-1.
Their goal made our lads step up a gear, they were moving the ball brilliantly creating some great chances, Alfie who was solid all game was unlucky not to get his goal but the post got in the way!!
Our 3rd goal came from a 3 or 4 shot scramble in the box which Jacob managed to tap in.
Tickhill was attacking back but our midfield and defence dealt with it brilliantly yet again giving Leo little to do. Some great runs came from Jakey and Bobby from out of defence plus some great through balls. Our 4th goal came from a great counter attack from Filip winning the ball in defence, passing it out to Jack who then passed it through to Jacob to run on to and cross it over for Peter to tap in. 4-1 win to the cubs.

Our Cubs U12'S Whites were up against Branton which should have been a home game but due to our pitch not being playable the match had to be reversed.
Our starting line up was Leo in goal, Jakey Jackson and Rhuben in defence, Alfie Gracen and Xander in midfield, Peter and Jacob up front.
The lads got off to a great start using the pitch well to their advantage it wasnt long before we hit the back of the net coming from Jacob with some good build up play coming from midfield.
The cubs were on fire today they were really working well as a team.
Branton were awarded a penalty which Leo saved giving the team more energy. The game was getting quite physical but the lads managed to keep their cool and play football. Bobby came on for Jakey after he suffered a knock.
Another goal came from Jacob and Xander got himself a goal with a cheeky back heel and Peter finished off the half with another well worked goal.
4-0 half time
Second half subs came on Jack, Alfie G.
The lads immediately turned on the team work and scored a quick goal pretty much straight from kick off.
The game was getting more physical but the lads did very well keeping it together and playing good football. Branton were awarded another penalty but yet again Leo stepped up to save another going in the bottom corner, topping it wide. Great save!
Jack got himself on the score sheet yet again getting himself one on one with the keeper to slot it in the back of the net.
Peter finished off the goals with a lovely one on one chip over the keeper.

Our Cubs U12'S Whites were at home today against Adwick. Starting line up was Leo in goal. Jakey, Filip and Rhuben in defence. Xander, Gracen and Alfie in midfield. Jacob and Peter upfront. The game started with our lads having most of the possession but just seemed to struggle getting the passes off and hitting the back of the net. Adwick managed to score first from a nice through ball. Adwick were awarded a penalty but hit the post for Leo to then follow up with a save. Our boys battled hard and eventually the goals came. Jacob scoring 2 before half time to make it 2-1 to the Cubs.
Second half and subs Bobby, Jackson, Noah and Jack came on. The lads started really well and were growing in confidence moving the ball well and piling on the pressure. Goals came from Jacob, Alfie, Jack and Peter giving us a comfortable lead. Adwick had a couple of attacking chances which our defence dealt with leaving Leo very little to do. Peter was taken down in the area and awarded a penalty. Noah stepped up to calmly slot the ball in the back of the net. Noah got himself another well deserved goal shortly after his penalty. Xander came on for Jacob and got himself a goal to finish off the game 10-1 to the cubs. Well done boys!
Man of the match was awarded to Alfie today who didn't stop working, using his position well and bagging himself a goal. Well done

After a long break from the league our Cubs U12'S Whites were away at Conyers in their new away kit.
We knew conyers were going to give us a good game and they didn't disappoint.
Today's starting line up was Leo in goal Bobby, Jackson and Rhuben in defence Noah Gracen and Alfie in midfield Jacob and Peter upfront.
It was end to end football but Conyers soon started to dominate the game as we struggled with fitness.
The cubs came in at half-time 3-1 down. Our goal came from Jacob.
Subs were made with Jack, Jakey, Xander and Filip coming on. The lads came out positive and started to take control of the game. The football and energy improved massively so it wasn't long until we equalised through a well worked goal from Jack and a corner was met by a fantastic header from Xander. 3-3.
Conyers were awarded a penalty but Leo kept his cool and saved it!! Conyers went on to pull one back but our lads didn't give up they dug in and managed to equalise with a shot from Peter outside the box. 4-4.
Gracen was so unlucky not to get our 5th goal with a long range shot.
The game finished 4-4. The lads are still unbeaten in the league! well done boys.

After a three week gap, our lads were back in action today with a cup game away at Retford. Showing their respect for Remeberance day.

Today our Cubs U12'S Whites were at home to Stainforth. Starting was Leo in goal, Bobby, Jackson and Rhuben in defence, Noah, Gracen and Alfie in midfield, Jacob and Peter upfront.
The lads started off strong passing the ball around well it didn't take long for Peter to find the back of the net.
The lads kept battling creating chance after chance. Our defence were solid with only one attack for Leo to deal with in the first half.
Some great shots from out strikers and midfield saw us come in at half time 4-0 up.
Second half our subs came on Jack, Xander, Jakey and Filip who were again solid.
The lads piled on the pressure again creating more goals from Jacob and Peter. Xander also got his name on the score sheet with a nicely worked goal. Final goal came from Alfie with another well worked goal.
The game finished 7-0 to the Cubs. Another great team performance Well done lads. MOM awarded to Rhuben who was solid all game.

U12's whites were away today against second in the league Rossington.
We knew it was going to be a tough game but the lads were well up for the challenge.
Starting line up was Leo in goal, Bobby, Filip and Rhuben in defence. Alfie, Gracen and Noah in midfield, Jacob and Peter upfront.
The lads set the pace of the game straight away and within the first 10 minutes got themselves 2-0 up from some lovely passing and movement.
Our third goal came from Alfie's amazing strike outside the box to smash the ball into the top corner.
Half time we came in 4-0 up.
Subs came on Jackson, Xander and Jack who impacted the game straight away.
Again the lads set the pace with Gracen completely running the game from center mid. Jacob and Peter kept the goals coming from more well worked team goals. Also a well deserved goal from Gracen who kept battling all game.
The game finished 8-0.

Our U12's whites were at home to Tickhill today.
Another amazing performance with some new names on the score sheet. Noah with a calm as you like penalty slotted in to the bottom corner, Xander with a lovely flick into the back of the net from a well played pass across goal and goals from Peter and Jacob to make it 6-0 at half time.
Subs were made at half time. Jack did exactly what was asked of him and bagged himself a hat-trick.
Jakey made some fantastic runs and was close to scoring a screamer that hit the top side of the bar.
The game finished 12-1.

Our Cubs U12's Whites were away for our first cup game today against Finningley Harriers. Starting line up was Leo in goal Jakey, Jackson and Rhuben in defence Noah, Gracen and Alfie in midfield and Jacob and Peter up front. The lads looked really up for it and started the game well. A little mix up in defence allowed Finningley to get the first goal. Yet again the lads responded positively by working well as a unit piling on the pressure. Some lovely forward passing got Jacob through to slot the ball in the bottom corner.
1-1 half time.
Second half subs were Jack, Xander, Bobby and Filip who all kept up to the level of play that was set in the first half.
Yet again the lads were moving the ball brilliantly to get Jacob one on one with the keeper for our second and third goal. Finningley battled back and found a way through our tight midfield and defence to get one back.
Leo pulled off some amazing save to keep us in the game! Our lads dug deep and with a brilliant counter attack move from the midfield and two strikers who linking up really well saw Jacob slot in his fourth goal.
The game was just about over but Finningley managed to get a soft goal back just before the final whistle.
Final score 4-3 to the Cubs.
Again an amazing team effort from all of them today! So supportive and positive towards each other.

We were away at Branton today.
The starting line up was Leo in goal, defence Bobby, Jackson and Jakey, midfield Noah, Gracen and Alfie, strikers Jacob and Peter.
We started off quite slowly which allowed Branton to move the ball quite well and find the back of our net early in the game.
The lads responded straight away by not giving the opposition a second on the ball! We soon equalised with a lovely cross over for Peter to slot the ball in the bottom corner.
The cubs kept the tempo creating chance after chance, some lovely movement and through balls saw Peter grab his second and Jacob his first. 3-1 half time.
Changes were made at half time with Jack, Filip and Rhuben coming on.
The cubs got caught out allowing Branton to get a second goal straight after kick off.
Again the lads reacted brilliantly not allowing Branton any time on the ball. Chance after chance came again with the lads passing and moving the ball really well using the wingers to our advantage, some great attacking play from Noah who was on fire and unlucky not to get himself a goal. Jacob managed to get another 2 goals and complete his hat-trick.
Branton's third goal came from what should have been a free kick the ref blew for but then decided to give the advantage as they carried on to score.
The lads yet again responded with a goal from Peter who also completed his hat-trick.
Game finished 6-3 to the cubs.
An amazing team performance from all today! The attitude and support they are giving each other is a pleasure to watch.

Today was our first game of the season played at home against Sprotbrough reds. Our starting line up was Leo in goal, Bobby, Filip and Noah in defence Xander, Jack and Alfie in midfield Peter and Jacob up front.
The game started quite even with both teams finding their feet, some good attacking play from both ends but it wasn't long until Jack managed to get a nice cross into the box for Alfie to slot in the first goal of the season.
The lads confidence kept growing and working well supporting each other. Some good passing and movement allowed Jacob in to get our second goal before half time.
We made some changes at half-time with Jackson, Rhuben, Gracen and Jakey coming on to do their part.
The game was evenly matched with Sprotbrough taking the edge and managing to get one back.
There wasn't long left in the game and Sprotbrough looked like they were going to equalise but Leo managed to pull off a great 1 on 1 save which seemed to pump our lads up to dig deep.
Some excellent defending from Bobby, nothing got passed him today.
Another lovely bit of passing and movement saw Peter with a perfect through ball for Jacob to run on to a win the game 3-1.
Brilliant performance from each player today, they all showed great attitude it was a pleasure to watch. Well done everyone

Tonight our Cubs had the chance to be trained by ex-professional and ex Leeds United coach Phil Wilson. What an experience it was for the lads who worked really hard and showed great attitude. It was also a great experience for the coaches to bring new and fresh ideas to the team. The team is grateful and thankful for his time with us this evening.

Today was an unlucky game score-wise. The Cubs played so well today and coming on as a team so well. Some amazing passing and ball control from the boys. Not just a single player deserved the man of the match award today 13.08.2023 so the whole team recieved it as it was definitely a team game. Well done boys!!! ⚽️

Leo recieved man of the match for the game on Wednesday 09.08.2023 against our other Brierley Cubs team. Unfortunately we lost the game but onwards and upwards for our Cubs.
