It’s official! I will be graduating from Cardiff University with a First Class Honour degree in Physiotherapy.
This feels incredibly surreal.
I went back to university just before I turned 30, after a horrific car accident changed my life forever.
I was determined to be the light in other people’s lives, that my Physiotherapists were for me, as I learnt to walk again.
I have literally worked my a**e off & honestly, I couldn’t be more proud of everything I’ve achieved in the last 4 years:
- Level 2 diploma in Gym Instructing
- Level 3 diploma in Personal Training
- Level 4 diploma in Sports Massage Therapy
- Dynamic Reformer Pilates Instructor
- A first class honour degree in Physiotherapy
Oh, & I set up half way through my degree too!!

This article was published in over the weekend & I THANK THE LORD it was, as over the last few months, I have been feeling more & more unsettled by what I have been hearing & seeing online when it comes to reformer Pilates.
Over the last few months I’ve been watching the popularity of reformer Pilates soar.
I’ve also been watching some absolutely ludicrous movements being performed on the reformer, by various online accounts, including more than one person using the same reformer at the same time & the reformer being used as a piece of cardio equipment.
Reformer Pilates is supposed to be slow, controlled, mindful movement.
That is how it works.
That is why it works.
Those who have followed me for a while have seen the content I upload. This is how reformer Pilates is supposed to be performed.
Carefully & with control.
This is NOT me bashing the industry, this is merely me raising concern for the health & safety of the public & the apparent lack of duty of care some gyms & “Pilates” studios seem to have over their clients & users.

Today is National Stress Day… & being totally honest & transparent with you, I find juggling social media while doing a full time degree & navigating life, STRESSFUL! 😂
Having not been on social media for over 2 years, coming back on for work purposes was huge for me, & it’s not been without it’s challenges. But my drive to help as many people as possible is what keeps me going.
Recording content, knowing how best to deliver the content that I know will help people & then creating it takes a lot of time, energy & research… and it can be super stressful!
So in homage to your content this week is me… stressed… making mistakes… and wondering if I even know what I’m talking about! 😂

Let’s talk glutes! Strong & conditioned glutes contribute to your overall lower limb function, postural control & stability, but most people don’t realise this. More specifically here, we’re talking about glute medius & minimus.
Your glute medius & glute minimus are responsible primarily for abduction (moving your leg outwards from your body).
Having strong & conditioned glute med & min can help reduce knee pain, & recorrect poor gait patterns. So, with knee pain being the second biggest cause of chronic pain & around a third of us experiencing knee pain in our lives, it’s definitely worth spending some time working on strengthening those peaches!
