Congratulations to our u13s who have done the double! ππ
Sunday saw both our u13s teams in action in cup finals at Jenner Park. Up first were the Greens who triumphed on penalties after a 3-3 thriller against Cogan. Top scorer Ethan Gibbins netted a hattrick in normal time, taking the game to penalties where the Stags prevailed 4-2 to lift the VoG JFL Championship Cup.
The Purples had the unenviable task of following up, and must have thought it was not their day when they went 1 down to Inter Penarth. However a double from Kacper Borowik and singles from Riley Stacey and Oakley Allen secured a 4-1 victory and brought the Billy Butlin Memorial Trophy back to Barry Island.

Well. Where to start?
Yesterday saw Barry Athletic lose the AFL Barry Cup on penalties to Penarth Town after probably the wildest match in Barry Cup history. Over 200 people braved the rain and were treated to a 12 goal thriller. The Stags, who found themselves 6-2 down at one point, managed to wake up after a raft of changes and on 67 minutes the comeback began. On 86 minutes the comeback to end all comebacks was complete and at 6 all and with 10 minutes added time the Cup was there for the taking. However, the Penarth held firm and their keeper saved brilliantly from an Ollie Tipples header to take the game to penalties where they prevailed 5-4.
Scorers on the day for the Stags were Alfie Tipples with two and singles for Danny Hansen-Taylor, Ollie Tipples, MOTM Teejay Caton and Tyler Bolton.
For all the credit our boys deserve for getting back to 6-6, equal credit must go to Penarth for going 4 goals up in the first place. Congratulations to Penarth Town on a tremendous victory.
As for the menβs seniors, itβs time for a break and to digest what has been a brilliant season for this young teamβ¦ second in the league, cup winners and cup runners up. Then itβs back to work- as next season we are coming for the lot. UP THE STAGS!
Better late than never (nothing to do with the fact neither side won) itβs the weekend results round up β½οΈ
The first team bow out of the Hugh James SWFA Senior Cup at round 4, losing a 7 goal thriller against Alliance side AFC Wattstown. Tyler Bolton, Teejay Caton and MOTM Alfie Tipples on the scoresheet for the Stags.
The reserves picked up a point away to Rhoose Social with skipper Ashley Avaient on target, Liam Stait picking up the MOTM award. Congratulations to Leo Cummins on his first senior start and Thomas Chong on his senior debut π

The reserves also won with an impressive 2-0 victory, Lewis Avaient scored both with Sam Hopkins winning MOTM. Congratulations to Abi Agosa making his debut.
