🌊 Get Ready for the Annual Odiham Raft Race! 🚣‍♂️

The highly anticipated Raft Race at C**t Hill, Odiham, is almost here! 🎉 Join us on Sunday, 1st September for a fun-filled day of community spirit and waterside entertainment.

📅 Schedule of Events:

🕛 12:00pm – Gates open! Explore the stalls, enjoy delicious food, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere before the races begin.

🚣‍♀️ 1:00pm – The action kicks off with an exciting canoe and kayak display from the BaD Canoe Club, followed by the first wave of rafts setting off on their adventure upstream towards Lodge Farm Bridge. 🏁

🚤 3:30pm (approx.) – After the main races, the fun continues with the crowd-favorite Raft Tug-of-War Contest. Expect plenty of laughs, splashes, and fierce competition as teams battle it out in a tug-of-war… on water! 💦

With many teams perfecting their homemade rafts, it’s going to be a day packed with creativity, camaraderie, and cheering from the towpath. Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, your support helps make this event truly special.

Sarah Martin

Sarah is a highly versatile vocalist with an undeniably jazzy edge to her sound that captivates audiences and transports them straight back to the vintage era. She is a stunning performer that brings style, elegance and flair to every single show, with influences such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse and Jamie Cullum.

A professional singer since the age of 17, Sarah has toured, performed and recorded with some of the best names in the industry, and is most well known for being a part of the world renowned International Pin-Up group “The Satin Dollz”. With The Satin Dollz, Sarah has recorded the album “Pin Up Revolution” which debuted on the iTunes Jazz Chart at Number 3 in the UK and number 7 in the US in November 2020. As part of Satin Dollz she has also performed at some of the UK's top vintage events, such as the D-Day 75 Anniversary Festival, and at some of the UK and Europe's best venues such as The Aldwych Theatre on London’s West End, The Ned, The Savoy and The Crazy Coqs to name a few. In 2019, Sarah toured nationwide with the Satin Dollz on the "Big Beat R***e" tour with the Jive Aces alongside many special guests, including West-End Star Cassidy Janson.

As well as her work with the Satin Dollz, Sarah is also a well-established solo performer, singing for private and corporate events all over the country.

As a recording artist, Sarah has also had much success, and even had a cover version featured on Love Island in 2021.

Sarah also had the honour of touring with musical legends "The Drifters" between December 2015 and September 2017. She was a special guest as part of the “Rebranded” tour before going on to have a starring role in the new musical "Stand By Me: A Tribute to Ben E. King and The Drifters" which successfully toured all across the UK and Ireland.

Nicolas Meier

UK-based guitarist Nicolas Meier has carved a reputation out as one of the world's most original and uniquely talented guitarists. Drawing from a love of Turkish, Eastern & Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Tango and more -- all mixed with jazz -- Meier's versatility and musical fluency extends well beyond that, even. (... so much so, that his considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend, Jeff Beck, who made Nicolas a mainstay in The Jeff Beck Group -- carrying him on two world tours during the course of the last several years.)

Meier’s sound is rooted in his love of playing jazz on acoustic guitar, especially his Godin nylon-string guitar. It’s a sound that lends itself especially well to flamenco and middle-eastern music, also -- and conveniently so: as these influences, and more, are brilliantly fused in his unique multi-lingual style. He also plays fretless acoustic guitar, the Saz (a traditional Turkish stringed instrument), electric guitar, steel-string acoustic guitar, glissentar (an 11-stringed fretless instrument) and a baglama.
