Think about it like this

Old style cylinders are made of copper

Copper erodes over time

Copper collects a lot of limescale

Copper eventually causes leaks

And in the worst cases

Those leaks end in ceiling damage

(Let's not talk about the expense of that repair)

The water cylinders we fit nowadays are made of stainless steel

Why?

To prevent your ceiling from falling through

Okay maybe that's a bit extreme

Actually it's not

Because potentially that could happen

But the new style of stainless steel cylinders will last the test of time

Copper cylinders have an average lifespan of around 10 years in Basingstoke

Some areas have harder water than others, so that's only an average
