For new followers, here are just a few pictures of Sungate’s many safety features:

- hidden wires (Smart TV/DVD player wires are hidden in the lounge chimney breast, bedside lights in the King bedroom have integrated wires)

- plug and light switch covers (twin room plug sockets have lockable covers, the light switch in the single room has a lockable cover)

- lockable kitchen cupboards (magnet locks)

Last weekend of pumpkin plushies and Halloween lollies, as we move towards Christmas…🎄

A walk in Bath, taken today 💙

We began by parking behind Victoria Park, (first hour is free, then just £1.60 for an extra 2 hours after that). We then took a 5 minute walk across to the famous Royal Crescent, passing Bath Pavillion on our right, with its bandstand (and squirrel!) followed by a brief stroll through the beautiful city centre (which was nice and quiet), saying hi to the guide at The Jane Austen Centre, and window shopping at Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights 📚

We also spotted Bath’s open top Toot bus, a firm favourite with our family for getting out and about 🚍

It was overcast in Bath today, but still so beautiful! 🍁❤️

Check in day and a special request from our guest family 💙

The family staying have travelled from abroad, and asked if they could drop off their luggage early. We were happy to oblige and so they did just that before heading on into Bath.

Wherever we can, we always try to be flexible and meet guests’ needs and requirements 😊

Sunshine and clouds for check in day 🌤️

The lounge bay window is the perfect place to watch the world go by at Sungate, with the rocking chair, cosy bench seat and egg chair set up for guests to relax 💙

Hydrotherapy pool sessions and other cool sports activities for Sungate guests 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️⚽️🧗‍♂️

Nova Sports & Coaching have a range of autism and disability friendly sports activities which Sungate guests can book onto during their stay over the October half term, including inclusive football, bouldering, and our personal favourite, the hydro pool!

Harry's Hydrotherapy pool is 30 minutes’ drive from Sungate. Perfect for a relaxing, warm water swim with the family, at a very reasonable cost, and there are no more than 2 families in the pool at any one time.

The Sungate single bedroom 💤💤💤

We know how important a good night’s sleep - any sleep! - is to our families.

With this in mind, we thought we would tell new followers to our page about the bedrooms at Sungate, starting with a post about the single bedroom.

Sungate has 3 bedrooms - a King bedroom, a twin room (2 singles), and one single bedroom.

Unlike the twin room, which has LED lights and a galaxy ceiling projector, the single bedroom is neutral and toned down, and is designed to be a calming space. It is set away from the other bedrooms to ensure guests can regulate and relax and enjoy a good night’s sleep 🤞

Because it is set slightly apart, the single bedroom is perfect for noisier guests, and for those that are prone to waking to the sound of a pin drop! 😅

Many of the features of the Sungate single room are discreet, such as the underfloor heating, reinforced bed and waterproof mattress. This means that the room is both pretty and functional, whilst having a lovely holiday feel 💙

Autism friendly features in the single room include:

Here’s our son Henry, sitting on the lounge bench seat looking out of the bay window - his favourite spot at Sungate.

This may seem like a small thing to some, but for us this is a big moment - a wonderful shared memory. Henry is autistic, non speaking and has complex needs. Being able to relax together, as a family like this, in holiday accommodation that meets his needs, is inclusion at its best.
