Cut by Custard

So this is it… for my 100th post (on Instagram), today I say goodbye to the last 4 years of my life. It’s been an emotional journey with ups and downs and everything in between.

I want to share my gratitude to everyone who has joined me on this journey. Firstly I want to thank my family for offering their constant support in all my creative endeavours. Without them I wouldn’t have known how capable I am at having my own business 💛

I want to thank my partner Alfie for giving me the confidence to pursue my hobby as my job. For standing by my side when I felt too anxious to do a market and always believing in me and my art. For helping me at almost every one of my shows, even the first show when we only had 3 customers and we had 4 hours of sleep from prepping products the night before. For pushing me through my moments of doubt and being my shoulder to cry on when things didn’t go as well as I hoped. I love you so much 💛

Thank you to everyone who started or just recently joined this chapter of my life. My customers from the beginning or more recent, I thank you for your unimaginable generosity. Packing your orders gave me a reason to keep going when I lost my passion 💛 Thank you to all the event organisers who saw a potential in my unique stall for their markets 💛 And to you reading this, thank you 💛

Lastly, I want to thank myself for not giving up at the first problem. For learning how to run a business with no prior knowledge and for working hard until the end. For using my voice to help others even when my own mental health was struggling 💛

This is the end (for now) for Cut by Custard but only the beginning for Fairwood Bakehouse. I know it’s completely fresh start but I hope you join me as I write this next chapter of my life.

*deep breath* Hi everyone. This isn’t the update that I thought I’d be giving. But, with a heavy heart, I have decided to step away from Cut by Custard. I’ve had the most incredible 4 years sharing my art, spreading positivity and meeting the most wonderful people 💛

The last few months have been very difficult as you know but I am doing much better. My time off allowed me to rest and rethink about my future. What was once my escape and therapy, turned into something very stressful and difficult. It was my perfectionism that allowed me to create beautiful products but also led me to destroy my mental health constantly working to achieve the impossible.

I am still very proud of what I have achieved with Cut by Custard and the opportunities I’ve been given. Thank you for everything 🥹💛

I’m having a goodbye sale of the last of my stock at on June 29th to raise funds for my new project with my sister and I would love to see you all there 💛 Everything I have will be super discounted and I’m sure Ozzy will make an appearance too! 🐶

This is a difficult post to make. In short, I’m taking a mental health break for a while.

Over the past few months I’ve been struggling. Struggling with motivation and my mental health in general.

It’s been a very tough decision but I believe that I need some time off to rest and focus on my recovery for a bit. This means I will not be attending the next market at Melksham.

Thank you for all your support and love for Cut by Custard these last 4 years. I hope to be back some time in May but I will let you know when the time comes.

Orders through my website and retail orders will continue to be fulfilled whilst I’m still able to.

How has your first week of 2024 been?

This Sunday you’ll find me and my products at the Family Fun Day event at the Old Redcliffians Rugby Club in Brislington raising money for 🏀 There will be many fun activities for all the family and stalls of goodies to explore 🎨

Youth Sports Trust is a children’s charity founded in 1995 to harness the power of play and sport in children’s education and development, with a vision to ensure that every child enjoys the life-changing benefits of play and sport! 🎾🛝
