The new Widcombe Social Club, with our well-stocked bar and 2 large function rooms has reopened for the use of members and the public alike.
Friendly venue welcoming both members and non-members alike, offering a variety of beverages at our well-stocked Waterside Arts Bar and large function room - message now to arrange your booking! We host all kinds of events, and can also cater for birthday parties and wedding receptions. In the daytimes, our light and airy space is booked by classes including yoga and pilates. We are the home of Bath Comedy Festival, and a wealth of bands and live music events.

Ponchartrain's music can be described as ‘vintage Americana’ – it's a honky-tonk, rockabilly, Cajun, bluesy kind of thing. The vibe is very 40s and 50s, drawing on writers like Little Jimmy Dickens, Leadbelly, Wiley Barkdull and Bessie Smith.
Ponchartrain's Paul provides the lead vocals, and rhythm guitar, doubling on steel guitar and dobro. He is joined by Jean Godden on fiddle and accordion. The band also features Stig Manley on lead guitar, Joe Allan on double-bass and Tim Robinson on drums.

We will hear performances from wonderful Sudanese musicians Nashatt & Emad and the oud duo Nabra, and we will hear the moving personal story of a recent evacuee from Sudan.

Maximus Manouche are an exciting, high octane instrumental gypsy jazz trio formed in the autumn of 2022.
The band comprises guitarists, Tim Petherick and Alex Bishop, both of who’s virtuosic skills are underpinned by the formidable energetic double bass playing of Tom Allen.
The trio play a wide repertoire of gypsy jazz from Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli’s Hot Club de France to more contemporary tunes, and a few originals too.
Maximus Manouche are guaranteed to entertain whether you want to dance to the swinging rhythm, or sit back and allow the trio to blow you away with their amazing playing.
