XMAS ‘22…all you need to know is ⬆️⬆️⬆️
What a woman. What a queen. 💔
Check out this gorgeous couple… and more importantly their dazzling gnashers! Leigh and Bertie, the best patients, loving their smiles. 😎😎 Can you guess which one is still mid-treatment?!
Did you see our last post? Take a closer look…
As orthodontists, our role is not just to “straighten teeth”. When appropriate, it’s our role to change faces. This lovely chap was a superstar throughout treatment. He presented with a severe Class II malocclusion - protruding teeth, lip trap, narrow upper arch, gummy smile. He started his treatment with a functional appliance (removable brace) for bite correction, followed by fixed appliances for alignment. His lips are now together at rest- a huge factor in long term maintenance, reducing the risk of trauma and improving appearance. Well done C!
This was such an interesting case- so much going on! This lovely lad presented with multiple issues- centreline discrepancies, asymmetrical bite, two missing premolars (UL5, LL5) and a retained lower left baby tooth —> swipe right to see the x-ray. We advised he have the baby tooth removed, along with 2 adult teeth on the right side. It allowed us to straighten his teeth, produce a symmetrical class I bite on the left and right sides, correct his centrelines and avoid him needing a fake tooth in the future. Win win all round! Three photos include pre-treatment (top), day of brace off (middle) and first check up (bottom). I love seeing how improved gum health can transform the result.
here’s a great case- we really enjoyed this one! This fantastic patient presented with an overjet, crowding, increased overbite, and class 2 buccal segs. He now has a class I occlusion with well aligned arches. The “after” photos were taken on the day of debond- can’t wait to see him at the first check up when the gums will have settled. Will update you guys with more photos! Hope you’re all enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend!
Wow! What a result…
Yes yes… “long overdue” one might say. I know! But finally, our very new and shiny website. Thank you to .preston.designs and cd associates! Local dentists- please use our online form for referrals!
Massive well done to (left to right) Jane, Holly, Vivi and Amy for their weekend adventure up Pen Y Fan. Very impressed… and what a day for it! 🔆🔆🔆
My first post for a while… I’m not a natural with instagram (you may have noticed!) 🥴 But I had to show off this case- what a fantastic, super-compliant patient. He presented with a classic example of a traumatic occlusion as a result of an anterior crossbite. It can result in gingival recession, mobility and enamel wear…. and it often doesn’t look great either. Our lovely lad here had a course of Invisalign clear aligners. Invisalign was the perfect option here (it isn’t always) as it was discreet and easy to wear. It was worn on the upper teeth only, and there was spontaneous alignment of the lower teeth. Look at the response of that lower incisor- magic!
⚠️⚠️Weather Warning ⚠️⚠️ We have taken the difficult decision to close the practice on Friday 18th February due to the local weather warning. We plan to re-open on Monday 21st February if it is safe to do so. We are contacting everyone who is due to come in tomorrow to re-arrange your appointment. We apologise for any inconvenience.
I know I keep pinching other people’s photos but I couldn’t resist this one… thank you . Bath Orthodontics looks out on this great view everyday- not often with snow, but a great view none the less.
🎄🎄Merry Christmas from Dr Katherine Tonge and the whole team at Bath Orthodontics! We’re taking a well deserved break for the holidays… but don’t worry, we’re on call every day for our patients if you need us! Swipe for more info🎄🎄
So lucky to be situated right next to that gorgeous Cleveland House… looks stunning all year round.
In a way, there’s no real update despite the increase in nationwide precautions as of tomorrow! Our operating procedures have remained in line with recommendations from the “beginning” and will continue to be so until it’s safe to stop. So as a reminder…
- Please wear a mask throughout the practice unless you are exempt (we have spares if you forget yours… and no, we don’t charge for them! 😝)
- Please use the hand sanitiser as you enter the building (if you don’t like ours, feel free to bring your own!)
- We will continue to take your temperature as you enter the building
- Please maintain social distancing
- We may have to ask you to wait outside, or in your car, if the waiting room is full (only two people or “bubbles” are allowed in at any one time)
- Please do not come to your appointment if you have tested positive for Covid-19, or are displaying any of the symptoms - please email [email protected] to let us know you won’t be coming.
- Our policies are in place to maintain everyone’s safety- staff and patients/families. Please respect these policies- we do not tolerate abusive or aggressive behaviour.
STAY SAFE ❤️❤️
🚨🚨Flashback Alert🚨🚨This is the very first room that Bath Orthodontics operated out of. It also doubled up as my parents’ study and the waiting room was in their living room. When I was younger, I remember being so upset at not being able to watch Live and Kicking on a Saturday morning! 😂
Hugo congratulations to Lauren, our amazing practice manager, on the safe arrival of baby Teddy! Can’t wait for lots of cuddles. He’s gorgeous! 😍😍😍
A couple more canines, and no more “underbite” thanks to braces, lower anterior bite turbos and time.
Wonky photo… not wonky teeth. 😎
[2016] This is our very own Dr Katherine Tonge receiving the JK Williams MOrth Gold Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons(Eng). How time flies!
Studies show that women are far less likely to self-promote and rate themselves highly, compared to their male counterparts. 👩💼👨💼At Bath Orthodontics, we’re an all female team and proud of it… but perhaps we should show off a bit more! So here are just a few recent comments from patients and their families. Thank you for all your kind words! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Our recent ‘friends and family test’ (FFT) results show that 100% of respondents are “extremely likely” to recommend us.
You may have noticed that we’ve been a bit quiet recently… there’s been lots of changes going on behind the scenes! What better way to get back into posting other than to announce that the amazing Dr. Rachel Worrall has joined the Bath Orthodontics team.
Rachel is a specialist orthodontist of the highest quality, and has lots of experience in treating children and adults with lots of different appliance types. As soon as we heard she was moving her family to the South-West from London, we had to snap her up! Rachel qualified as a dentist from the University of Bristol in 2007, and went on to specialise in Orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital in 2013. She’s also had experience in lots of other areas of dentistry including general dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery and paediatric dentistry. As if this wasn’t enough, she’s presented at national and international conferences, including winning a prize for her very own research.
I think you’ll agree that she’s a great addition to the team! When she’s not creating beautiful smiles she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking! Welcome aboard, Dr. Worrall! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
🐣🐣Have a lovely long weekend, from all the team at Bath Orthodontics 🐰🐰
Proud to be mummy to these two cheeky monkeys. Proud to be a daughter of a wonderful mummy aka Granny Mags (shown here next to my dad and founder of Bath Orthodontics, Dr Eric Tonge). Happy Mother’s Day to all the mummies.
Buccal shots may not excite the general public... but you’ve got to love a perfectly class I occlusion

Living near water is a dream for many people but to actually live on top of a canal is quite something else entirely!
Cleveland House was originally built as offices for the Kennet and Avon Canal that gently meanders beneath passing through an impressive 173 foot tunnel.
Now a private home with views on two aspects towards beautiful Sydney Gardens in one direction and the leafy canal path in the other it remains one of the most unique properties in the country and must be incredible living so close to water.
Despite the recent restrictions announced tonight, we remain OPEN! We are still abiding by strict social distancing and PPE guidelines.
If you have any concerns regarding your brace or your appointment please email [email protected] or call 01225 481890. Stay safe!
